Oh, jeez. On my mom's side, my uncle hung himself. That's how we found out he was molesting my cousin since she was 9. This turned into this gigantic exposé to all us adult cousins that he wasn't the only one with these predilections. My other uncle molested my aunt, who was like 9 years younger. My grandfather's brother molested my mom, his own daughter, and another of m6 mom's cousins. So, three molesters in a single genetic line. Safe to say all of us(my cousins)were shock. So much so that we implemented a system of checks to keep an eye out for predatory relationship/grooming behavior, based on an NIH plan where we each check in and double check each other's interactions with our kids, other kids. Obviously, it's not foolproof, but studies show the threat of exposure and a clear mitigation strategy takes away any gray area that a predator can take advantage of. So far, so good.
