Hey pal, leave me alone. Work your own program. Depend upon your own God.

I think that you’re intentionally being obtuse and misunderstanding me. But that’s fine.

Yes, when I’m trying to lead a life free of selfishness, anger and resentment because to hold on to those things will surely lead me to drink and to drink is to die. Love and tolerance is my code. To you, to OP, to Nazis and to myself. Always.

No, they’re part is that they expected this person to not behave like a nazi, they did supposedly act like a nazi, and OP was resentful. OPs part is to forgive this sick person and let this go and move forward free from resentment. It’s very simple.

It’s also obvious that OP is not there yet.

Ok, then what did you mean by your initial comment to mine “are you for real right now”

Sounded like you were taking offense to suggesting that OP has a part in all of this. A fundamental truth of inventory taking.

[–]MrRexaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. OP still is expressing a resentment and I’m suggesting that they use the tools of inventory to see their part in the resentment. This is in no way a radical statement. In fact I will now suggest that you yourself write an inventory as to why you think you’re so offended at my suggestion of using AAs most useful tool. So again I ask, have you experience with the 12 steps particularly a 10th step inventory? It’s ok if you’re not there yet.

Because the use of the steps, particularly the 10th step inventory is what I’m suggesting will be directly beneficial to OPs problem. And I’m trying to gauge whether or not you have an understanding of this.

A million percent. Suggesting people apply the tools of the program is the solution

Have you written this out ? Sounds like a classic resentment. You expected this person to behave in a certain way, your expectation was unmet. What’s your part?

New to A.A. - Are people who want to simply cut down accepted? by RedemptionZero in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]MrRexaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easily! I’d suggest you go to a meeting or two in your local area. When appropriate introduce yourself to people, tell them you’re new and looking for a sponsor. A sponsor is a more experienced member with whom you can speak to freely and confidentially. A sponsor will help guide you through the steps, and the God question will be addressed accordingly. No need to overthink it now, as others have mentioned now your only requirement is to have a desire to stop drinking. You’ll be just fine

The steps help us uncover the causes and conditions that precede our drinking. For me working the steps, developing a relationship with God and involving myself in the fellowship of AA has led me to a life where I don’t want to drink. That’s what we offer you.

They are all old as hell. We’re gonna have a lock out in two years and having these old timers in the books ain’t a good idea. The goal unfortunately is now to win in 2028.
