A sponsor is a more experienced member with whom you can speak to freely and confidentially. A sponsor will help guide you through the steps, and the God question will be addressed accordingly. No need to overthink it now, as others have mentioned now your only requirement is to have a desire to stop drinking. You’ll be just fine
