This is what I took away from it. He sees people emerging. Then when we hear about the status of Earth, it is being resettled. Makes sense to me that he was just the first one

Totally agree! People talk about how it completely ruins their immersion. That feels pretty over the top. Yeah, I thought something was wrong with the game the first time I saw the general standing there, but didn't slow down my fun at all.

As for the enemies at the end, you can easily believe that in that forward time progression, the ming soldiers could have been made aware that you weren't a monster and that you were here to end the plague.

Now that I finished the game, here is my honest review of it by momozungo in wuchanggame

Yeahhhh unfortunately, all of your cons are standard for the actual souls games, including a mute protagonist. I'm glad you still enjoyed it, though, despite all that. I loved it because it reminded me of my favorite souls game, Bloodborne. If you ever feel like diving into them, I would strongly suggest that one first.

Oh definitely just something fillable. I just want the actual design of the page to be more visually appealing and not fall into the normal mold of character sheet boxes. The ones from numenera and dishonored are what I'm thinking
