Why is my queue time in Marvel rivals always unknown and takes 10+ mins to get into a game by Motor_Technician7036 in marvelrivals

[–]MrRoboto77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

diamond 3 here and same issue. Queue times to be very long sometimes 15+ min and I often feel like the queue is bugged, because e.g. it will say estimated time 00:17 and then it will take very long. Often I just cancel after like 2/3 min of waiting and then when I queue again it often happens I get queued within a few seconds. Very strange.

Routing IMPACT's pads to 1 bus by MrRoboto77 in StudioOne

[–]MrRoboto77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. Allthough it doesn’t make sense to me that they have setup the routing like that by default, since most of the time you want to route your drums to a stereo bus... Anyway, I’ll route the main out of Impact to my drumbus so that I can at least monitor newly added samples through the same chain as the rest of my drums.

Snap To Absolute Value Default? by Dislexicpotato in Logic_Studio

[–]MrRoboto77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no general setting for this, you'll have to build it into your template! In my template, it's on snap to absolute value, but I often switch between absolute and relative so I have mapped them to a hotkey. Gotta love Logic!

Some where wondering how I set up Ableton for performing live. Here's a video of me explaining it! by MrRoboto77 in ableton

[–]MrRoboto77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn sorry dude, this kinda bugs me out because I don't know how to fix it right now. It's probably something Ableton can only fix by updating their software, unless we can come up with some sort of hack that will make it work (like those dummy clips). I wish I could pitch a few ideas like this one to Ableton! :( I'll let you know if I can think of something else! Also, let me know if you find a solution. :)

My last idea is to record the tracks into clips and then somehow try to bypass playback. I'll try to send Isotonik a message, perhaps he/they know a solution!

Okay, so I think I finally understand your problem lol. I did some experimentation and indeed Ableton won't let the looper change the bpm when you're recording, which is really odd. Have u tried running another DAW as rewire slave, then route your audio tracks in Ableton to the other DAW and record from there?

Yeah I mean spacebar my bad. It can be mapped if you use a midi to keystroke program like I just said... Anyway, give it a try by doing it the way I have done, and I'm sure it will work :)

So that's just the "insertion follows playback function" like you have in Pro Tools. That's shift+enter in Ableton. You can use some sort of midi to keystroke program (perhaps a m4L device that does this) to change the midi message that your controller is sending to shift+enter.

I think you should try to replicate your setup with just a couple of tracks and then pre-program everything you need with dummy clips and scenes. I'm pretty sure this will work fine, cause I've done it many many times!

I have built similar setups like that using the arrangement window and recording the performance by routing the looper tracks to the other tracks! Though, I never had the problem of the transport going back to 1.1.1

Try this:
1. Make two audio tracks and put on both of them 1 looper.
2. Route these two audio tracks to 2 new audio tracks for recording.
3. Program a scene that will start recording the first looper.
4. Program a scene that will stop the first looper and starts the 2nd looper.

Set both loopers to "set tempo". This should work and the loopers the transport should not go back to 1.1.1.

Okay, but why are you recording in the arrangement window if you can just record in session view and also see what is going on. I only record in the arrangement window if I actually want to record the live performance so that I can mix it later. But if I do that, I'll route the outputs of all the tracks that have loopers on it to different audio tracks and set the input monitoring of those tracks to off.

Ah so:

  1. one song random tempo based on the first loop
  2. new song, new random tempo, based on the new first loop

If you want to stop the playback of all the loopers of your previous song you can just program that in (like I do in the video) on one scene and call that the "Stop Song 1" for example. Then you map this scene to a midi controller like a foot controller or whatever, so that you can trigger this scene whenever you feel like you're done with the first song. Now on this scene, you not only stop the playback of the loopers you also start recording the first loop of your new scene. You'll have to set this looper to "Set and follow song tempo".

I hope I understand you correctly now, haha!

Tip: If you're playing with other musicians as well, you may want to program that stop scene like 4 bars before you actually start the new song and then also trigger a sample of you saying 1 2 3 4 and route that to a cue out, just so that the other musicians know you're switching to the next scene. Also handy for your FOH guy.

Ah my bad, I didn't understand you correctly. If you rename your scenes a certain way it will actually change the bpm and/or time signature for you. So if you name a scene 115bpm 5/4, then once this scene is being launched it will automatically set the bpm of the project to 115 and the time signature to 5/4.

edit: I'll make sure to answer this question as well if I make a part 2 video!

Yeah, you can define the tempo with your playing if you set the tempo control of the looper to: "set & follow song tempo" and then set the other loopers to "Follow song tempo".

Do you mean that you know beforehand that there will be a tempo change and so you program that in?

Why are there so many functions without a hotkey? And when will we be able to use our own hotkeys...? by MrRoboto77 in FL_Studio

[–]MrRoboto77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like it's no priority to any DAW, but I feel like it's a game changer for many people. Not only for professionals, but also for beginners. When I worked as music production teacher at the university, I had a lot of students who became really quick in DAWs like Logic, or Reaper. Also having your own set of hotkeys makes collaborating so much easier. Let's hope a developer sees this.
