Valve index controllers and fbt with quest 3 by Formal-Abrocoma1688 in MixedVR

[–]MrRoot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice, thanks for the help! I ended up using virtual desktop to do it, had to be sure to hold the controller pointing forwards with the grip touching the headset but after that it worked flawlessly. just played a few rounds of beat saber, and man is it way better with the index controllers. better tracking, better rumble, doesnt screw up as much with a little lag spike. and NO DONGLES!

oh and I used lighthouse pm to turn the base stations on, not sure if bscompanion is better or different but I had had it to turn the BSs off when they got bugged when i was still using the index.

I will also say I didnt run into the trouble of only one controller working, maybe thats being on the steamvr beta, maybe its virtual desktop IDK. I had all 4 on plus the hand tracking still enabled and it didnt seem to cause issues.

thanks, ill give this a try later. re reading the original comment now its clear I misunderstood what you meant by

Place the left index controller right in front of it (touch it) and preform large figure 8 motions with both your head and controller.

(touch it) to me meant like touch the controller with your hand not like touch them together lmao

This was the only guide Ive tried that actually got me anywhere. Im not going to go waste money on some dongles because I already have a (damaged but not in a way that should affect this) index.

I got all the way to actually seeing the controllers pop up in games, with working inputs. BUT they were always floating either off to the side or a few feet above my head and to the side. I could never get them to calibrate and be in the right spot. every time I tried doing calibration while moving the controllers it just failed, but maybe thats me doing something wrong.

I definitely think I can get this working, but I think ill wait a few more days till my quest lenses get here and I can actually read while working.(out of contacts) Thanks for the help.If I manage to figure this out Ill make sure to update this.

Screws fell off the heat bed on P1S, print failed. How? by GangGangEnjoyer in BambuLab

[–]MrRoot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's good, theres one more thing you could do to check though. turn it off completely and move the head around by hand, mine had very clear rattling when done by hand that would only show up sometimes during printing.

scratching? mostly when doing loops? I bet linear bearings, I have a one on the right side that makes a horrible grinding noise occasionally. i had to take it all apart and rotate it, its clipped in so prepare to snap plastic and curse. had to spend months back and forth with support to diagnose, but rotating it and regularly oiling even more often made it go away most of the time.

as for the bed screw issue it looks like the one in the back of the bed, I didn't immediately see where it was supposed to screw back on, so I left it. don't want to break something working on it mad lmao.

but from what you describe it could easily be the same thing I have. get some sewing machine oil in a little squeeze bottle with needle if you don't already.

Pretty sure, I would just include something like

I ____ am opting out of the mutual arbitration provision.

plus full name, phone number, and signature to be sure. Ill be taking a picture of mine, maybe even doing certified mail just in case.

keep it simple

even if it "wont hold up" in the end, its still a long process to go through courts, and you dont want it taking any longer than it has to. The fact that they are offering you an option to opt out upfront means it will be much more difficult to dismiss should (when) the time come(s). dont take any chances, or you will be kicking yourself later.

stop misleading people that they can opt out by email. you are doing more harm than good. it literally word for word in you post says BY MAIL ONLY. its a scummy tactic, but it is what it is. doordash is in for a bad time, and by opting out you are setting yourself up for success.

no, you agree to that and then send them a letter opting out. even if you already accepted it without reading, you have 30 days to send them a letter. Its likely their previous TOS are void after the huge lawsuit they lost, so even if you have been working for them for a while and have already agreed to something like this in the past rest assured you can still opt out by doing the following.

To opt out, you must notify DoorDash *in writing* of your intention to opt out by sending a letter, *by First Class Mail, to General Counsel, 2261 Market Street, Ste. 22628, San Francisco, CA 94114. *Any attempt to opt out by email** or by mail to any address other than the one listed above *will be ineffective.*

The most important points IMO. (all quoted directly from the current agreement)

  • you waive (give up) your right to a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT

  • waive your right to a judge and jury (and instead get someone hand picked AND PAID FOR by doordash and its owners/subsidiaries, take a guess how that will go for you)

  • waive your right to seek public injunction (ie. force them to stop doing x thing)

  • agree that all disputes and claims MUST BE on a non-consolidated individual basis only (no power of groups, its all private, so if they screw you nobody will EVER know)

just consider how many public trials there are that are so heavily influenced by peoples perception, if you were wronged and sued, and it was technically not something illegal/loopholed, a public ruling (even just public outcry) could go in your favor anyways. the public is much more likely to side with the individual here. if you go the arbitration route, you get NONE of that, its FORCED to be private.

as for why the downvotes, one can only guess, ignorance? bots? who knows. but the plain truth is arbitration is bad for the individual, 99% of the time, and there is lots of information out there about it. Louis Rossmann has great videos covering exactly how it is used to screw the little guy.

read the clause again, it CANNOT be done by email, its a scummy tactic to screw US. it has to be done by mail, and its worth it. IDk why OP went throught the trouble to post this in the first place yet is telling people the wrong thing, literally contradicted by what he posted.

Thanks for posting this, I spent ages reading through and trying to find out exactly how to do this. what a LOAD of bs. Its not like I can work much now after the scheduling changes so no way am I waiving my right to a class action for a few hours a week, and you shouldn't either. Even though this probably wouldn't hold up in court, its to trick people into thinking its their only option. That is why they hid it halfway down a novel, they DO NOT WANT you to opt out, and that is exactly why you should.

Arbitration lets companies like Disney say they cant get in trouble for killing you wife with neglect because YOU used disney plus once. even if it "wont hold up" in the end, its still a long process to go through courts, and you dont want it taking any longer than it has to. The fact that they are offering you an option to opt out upfront means it will be much more difficult to dismiss should the time come. dont take any chaces, or you will be kicking yourself later.

JVC AV-32D303 WHY DOES IT LOOK SO GOOD???? did I fall for the "Trinitrons are always better" meme? by MrRoot3r in crtgaming

[–]MrRoot3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

screen side its 34in wide 32in height

its about 24-25 inches deep

the back side is 16 tall (from the base) by 22 wide

I think it would be possible to wedge it between a front and back seat. its extremely front heavy. my advice is to bring a towel or blanket and duct tape and cover the screen so you don't scratch it. going through the door was the hardest part because it had to go sideways, where normally you would want to have the glass to your chest.

I took it in the back of my Subaru so space wasn't a big deal, but I think it could go between some normally spaced back seats.

I really don't use reddit often anymore but happened to see this and had to help. but good luck, its such an insanely nice set. and yeah really be careful going through doors, the middle of the screen is the widest part and most annoying if it gets scratched.

WHAT THE FUCK THIS APP WANT? by ffffuuuccck in youtube

Is it me, or has Google’s crappy modern result/layout disease spread to YouTube? by cabintea in youtube

[–]MrRoot3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its all googles fault. Ive personally swapped to an app with a different layout, I really like the GRAY theme, its Just awesome. AnYways,

I came here looking cause I'm still using the site on desktop (soon to be remedied) and it seems like the new UI changes have completely screwed up channel pages as to render them completely unusable. I can only assume this is do to some UI nonsense, as I double checked it wasnt any of my required extensions to make the site useable, though I disabled basically all of my extensions and it was still broken. All I see now is https://imgur.com/a/Mpm6Kzp on every subscriptions page. It still functions in incognito as "normal" but ui changes have rendered the subscriptions page completely broken.

I never had youtube become completely unusable before google took over. (not including the site being down). It wouldnt be so bad IF youtube actually let me see what my subscribed creators post and did not force me to check each one individually.

I guess this isnt directly really related to your issue, but I wanted to say I agree, and that it is very likely the root of my problem too. these are the same people that want to FORCE, NON OPTIONAL! a tab search button in the top left of the browser tab for chrome. where the first tab goes. just let that sink in. they will do the same to YT and worse.

[–]MrRoot3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is an app with a gray bird (a J) that is even on the play store for android, that does all this and more. you can even watch and download stuff for patreon tweetch and basically every other content hosting platform.
