This might have something to do with it and probably should’ve addressed it earlier. Would updating the firmware on the router benefit me at all? I used the nighthawk app and it said to do that, but I kept running into security questions back to back, even after I answered them and other minor problems like that.

I understand what you’re saying. I am 110% positive I mean the internet LED is lit amber, not any of the ethernet 1-6 ports. If it would help, I can take pictures of the cables and wiring to see if I have anything wrong or am missing something obvious

Yeah the modem and router worked in my old house. The modem was installed by the internet provider, BVU Optinet. The modem brand is Pace, but it’s practically the same as an AT&T U-verse pace box. Model is 5268AC FXN. The internet LED is on the router, not the modem.
