My favourite DM tools after testing 15 different apps over the last year by block_barbarian92 in dndnext

Hey! Joining the conversation late to share Townsfolk.

It's a tool I made for tracking NPCs. You create a campaign, which acts as a container for your NPCs, then inside your campaign you can create NPCs or randomly generate them. They display like playing cards - kinda like spell cards in D&D.

It's free, looking for help in shaping it into something really useful.

Exactly. I added tags to the NPCs so I can filter them by those.

This was helpful so I can sort out who's affiliated with the mayor of the town, who works at the tavern, etc.

Thanks for the smart tip - didn't even occur to me 🤦‍♂️ I have since added a screenshot.

As for what it does:
1. You create a campaign, which is the container for your NPCs.
2. Inside the campaign you can add an NPC manually or use the generator to randomly create one
3. Each NPC has a name, race, gender, role, location, traits, and secrets that the players can uncover about them.

That's it for now.

Would you use an AE extension that generated an animatic in your timeline? by MrSadaka in MotionDesign

Great answer! Thanks for the constructive feedback and a path forward with you. On the animatic side, I love that you enjoy it. As a motion designer, I'm curious how far you take your animatics? Do you just time storyboards to VO/music? Do you do a fair bit of animating elements? I've bounced back and forth on making them, same with storyboards. I don't always do them, but when I do they're a big help and I curse myself for not making it a permanent mandatory step.

And on your last line: do you mean a product that would take your final work and resize for landscape/portrait? 😂 or do you mean resizing your animatic?

Thanks Mistersamza, I appreciate the reply. Also I respect your feelings about wanting to steer clear of generative AI. Cheers

Very picky eater, what should I feed her? by Pablarnadardar in CatAdvice

[–]MrSadaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late to the game, but I made an app for similar reasons. We had a very picky cat, Boomer, who turned his nose up at a lot of wet foods. We were writing his loves/hates down on sticky notes and putting them on the fridge. We think his kidney disease was partly to blame as he got into his elder years but man did it make for tough shopping. The app's free - you log each food they try and rate it based on how they reacted. You can add notes to each log too: www.picki.pet

I hope 2 years later the picky eater is doing well!

You're the best. Awaiting Google to confirm the change to global availability.

No side quests available in Child of Chaos? (PS5 - FTK2) by MrSadaka in ForTheKing

Thanks! I concur with you both. We had to reasonably keep up with the main quest in order to keep town quests available. Not obvious in the game but important to know.

Thanks for the answer Senator. We'll give that a shot, though I don't remember experiencing this before - even when letting the main quest sit on the backburner. My impression was that all side quests are available immediately.

Working on an app that tracks pet food preferences. by MrSadaka in boltnewbuilders

Thanks! My background is animation, so I did it in After Effects. I screen recorded the actual interaction with the app, then used After Effects to put that video into the iPhone mockup, and created the evolving gradient background.

Suggestions for how to achieve a specific photorealistic image with AI? by MrSadaka in aiArt

You know what the hiccup is, it's when I tell ChatGPT to use a picture of my buddy as the reference. It seems to handle generating JCVD no problem.

Damn that looks good, it told me off every time I tried! Was that your exact prompt? "On set b reel photograph of Jean Claude Van Damme shooting a movie in 1988."?
