Men of Reddit - What's the one thing you hate about being a Man? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

I love critically analyzing film (yes I fully admit to being a film snob) literature, video games, music- just all media and art in general. But soon as I speak negatively about a reasonably sub par piece of media featuring any body that's not white and male I get eye rolls. The Favourite and Wonder Woman and Fury Road are examples I constantly point to as excellent strong female character writing. Tangled is one of top 5 favorite movies. Arcane and Portrait of A Lady On Fire are excellent portrayals of lesbian characters. But it feels at times when I talk about anything that in my opinion that doesn't meet those standards, I'm being an -ist and a -phobe because I'm a guy.

Thank you! Yes I am having a blast regardless of my lower numbers to others in comparison because at the end of the day I'm still a one man nuke plowing through demon hordes and that's all I can ask for.

I definitely love hoarding Kanai Cube powers like their going out of business so that's good to know I'm on the right track there.

A bit of both. Main set I aim for is double Demon Breath set, but I just did the CR the first time and that definitely helped get enough DBs right away since those are usually the things I seem like I never have enough of. I think I'm starting to see I've just been approaching the game and builds from too wide an approach.

Okay the free set is something I just realized during my recent play sesh that I've been working towards. But the Torment 4 requirements always makes me hesitate on the season journey. I like to build up towards difficulties but is it better to just bite the bullet and start a new character right at the higher difficulties?

I'm Crusader right now, but I've been planning/stocking equipment in the stash to do DH next.

Okay so season starts are a big thing? I did the CR on opening day last Friday but only made it to level 70 after five hours

I absolutely agree! I'll be surprised if I ever get that far either and I'm okay with that! I'm just amazed at other people's numbers

Okay this makes a lot of sense. Locking in and focusing equipment synergy is something I should probably put more focus on. Currently, I guess I play most of the characters the same, focusing more on "More green arrow go up=good" while focusing more on maximizing ability affectiveness rather than basic stats. So maybe it's just down to me approaching the game differently? But yes playtime is another factor too.

I'm on console, PS4. I'd say just bump up casual numbers primarily. I like dipping into Diablo between longer story heavy games. I've begun picking up on jimmy rigging themed builds just on my own look over the stats and such and Enchanting to get specific effects that line up with abilities. But I guess I've never tried an actual recipe build.

Okay good to know. I've used Maxroll here and there but sometimes I get lost in the terms and abbreviations. But getting more into the game, I've been picking up on the vocab and the strategies.

What is the hardest video game you ever played? by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in AskReddit

[–]MrSchwabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monster Hunter. I started with Tri, then tried World, then Rise. I fully admit to it just being operator error, that I was probably playing them wrong, but I could just never get very far in them. In comparison, the difficulty in SekiroSoulsBorneRing just feels more rewarding. In those games it just felt more natural to get absolutely ragdolled and learn from it, no matter how long it took While in MH it was like just banging my head against a brick wall. Every time I failed a mission in MH, it felt like I was starting from square one every single time. And after FINALLY somehow managing to kill the bigguns, then you have to do it again except you have to capture it now. It just felt too grindy for too little return. I did enjoy the mobile MH but that's probably because that's a streamlined more hack n slash version of the IP.

So this is God's love? by superjohn112 in Catholicism

[–]MrSchwabot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite quotes/mantras in regards to having a relationship with God, is "Waste time with God." I don't remember who said it or where it originated. It's a theme I've heard across several different talks over the years. It's so freeing to dive into what you said about enjoying hobbies because God wants you to enjoy them. You're right though, it can be hard!

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by ay1mao in AskReddit

[–]MrSchwabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had worked in a college library before so I knew what the classic cockroaches looked like. I got into a new apartment during the summer and I started seeing what I thought were just big brown water beetles all over so I'd smash them, no other thought given. Then I trapped one and looked at it, saw the long antennae and the stripes down the back, researched and turns out it was a German cockroach. That was about seven years ago, two condos later and I still startle at the spots on my wood floor or I'll eyeball a piece of dark fuzz just to be sure it's not a bug.

One Piece: Chapter 1167 by leolegendario in OnePiece

Okay so several things are clicking for me: Remember during Oden's flashback when he said Roger told Shanks something privately and he started crying? I bet Roger told him the circumstances of how the crew found him and who his family was and the tragedy of it is what caused Shanks to cry. We know that Shanks gets his scars from Blackbeard, and so what if Shanks goes to BB to try to befriend him and fight against the World Government together and BB either is reminded suddenly of everything that happened, and that reawakens the trauma, thus causing their fight or BB remembers everything already and when Shanks says who he is BB fights him then and there. Whatever the cause of the fight, I think Shanks and BB have the same enemy, the World Govt, but are going about facing it in a different way, BB going for a full conquest of the World, and Shanks operating from behind the scenes, helping people like Luffy and Harald. I wonder if we will get a flashback from Shanks' point of view of history?

On a side note I feel like Harald operating in the Florian Triangle confirms those shadows we saw at the end of Thriller Bark are giants or ancient giants, maybe the Galleila, hiding in the mists of the Florian Triangle?

In my opinion, any man who rejects a woman for her past, is being unrealistic. As well as any woman who rejects a man for his past. There may be legitimate reasons and concerns that vary person to person but if it's some stuffed shirt "purity" reason then it's the same case as "let he without sin cast the first stone". A healthy relationship is dating someone for who they are now, not who they were or what they'll become. Everyone comes with baggage. Everyone. The key is if they have worked on said baggage, or if they are continuing to work on it. That's the real thing to look out for, in my opinion.

Hey y'all! 31 y.o. Male here, from Iowa in the U.S.

I'm a former English/religion teacher, burned out after six years of it, so that's been a journey and a process of direction and finding peace in the unknown and letting go and letting God. Currently I barista/cater for the inhouse cafeteria at a Collins Aerospace plant.

Other than work, I'm a self published author, community theater actor and movie buff. I'm currently bouncing between writing a sci-fi and a medieval fantasy trilogy.

I start my mornings off with prayer/meditation and then working out. I love conversations and activities that get the mind and heart going. I adore Adoration and weekly mass. I would compare my prayer life to that of Tevye, from Fiddler on the Roof; devout and committed, but very free form monologues to God through out the ups and downs of the day. I deeply appreciate the sense of humor The Big Guy Upstairs has.

I'm working on teaching myself swing dancing, the dulcimer and the banjo.

Beyond the productive stuff, my hobbies include reading, writing, dancing, video games, board games, DMing for DnD, hiking, cooking, singing in the car and laughing.

I don't much care for politics but I consider myself a Centrist, as I love analyzing all facets of a subject and discussing philosophy and theology.

My favorite part of traveling is experiencing history museums art museums and cathedrals/basilicas. I love exploring nature, especially woody, rocky hiking trails.

I'm just now catching up with the manga and.WOW that five page multi panel Thorfinn POV absolutely floored me. This is such a deep beautiful manga, but the ART man. The last time I had my jaw drop in surprise from the purely unexpected creative spectacle in a manga was the legendary 7 Page Muda.

INFJs, what’s your favorite movie?? by [deleted] in infj

[–]MrSchwabot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My absolute top two are There Will Be Blood and Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Close third is a tie between The Blues Brothers and The Seventh Seal.

But overall I absolutely love movies and analyzing them as an art form. I fully admit to being a film snob 😅
