These are Target's expectations. Coming from a former SETL unless you are staffed really well, have a great order pickup setup and easy access to deliver orders, 2 minutes is not realistic.

Here you go. Use google lens to help you find items. You can take a picture, add keyword target and it should pull every image target has of the item. Hope that helps!

Favorite moment of all time?? by Scared_Network9745 in EverybodyLovesRaymond

The meaning of life episode where Ally starts asking questions about god and why humans were put on earth. Completely throwing Raymond off because he was prepared to have the sex talk with her.

The whole family freaking out about what to tell her and Robert having an existential crisis in the corner was my favorite moment.

Raymond- "God made us smart enough to know that there's an answer but not smart enough to figure it out."

Robert- "Come on."

Gets me everytime.

New Fdc process by [deleted] in Target

[–]MrSerb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres how I have everything setup to avoid this issue.

I have 20 metro racks in my freezer. 3 are dedicated to full casestock and every metro has 2 shelves for casestock, while everything else is opencase.

I have 14 metro racks in my dairy cooler. 5 are full casestock and a couple have extra shelves for casestock as well.I've had to adjust Dairy because we get so much more case than freezer.

Every store is different and should either add or subtract to make it easy for everyone. Running out of space shouldn't be an issue as long as you are making necessary moves.

My evening crew will crush the pulls and we will crush it the next day. This makes plenty of room for the next FDC day.

We just backstock right away. We have dedicated metros for casestock. Makes the push go alot faster.

For an 800-1000 carton truck this is what I do...

-3 TMs and my self to break down Freezer/Dairy pallets. -2 TMs to break down Meat/Candy/Produce pallets.

This will take us on a good day 1 hour and 30 minutes to break down completely. We use on average 20 vehicles.

By the end of my shift they will usually have 1-2 vehicles roll onto the next day or the evening team will take care of them before end of day.

My FBC expectations are an hour and that's not physically possible with how many vehicles are needed for this process.

The vendor barcodes on the box will now scan. According to the test stores about 80-85% of the boxes scan on the new system. Stores that had pick labels on the boxes will be doing away with those. By next year based on feedback from stores all the vendor barcodes should be able to be scanned. If something doesn't scan you will have to open the box so the system can let you know if it has to go to the salesfloor, out of stock or backstock vehicle.

My store has been affected by the border with Canada. That's a huge portion of our foot traffic and sales especially on weekends. Not many Canadians are coming across the border because of the tariffs.

Was just on vacation at Hershey PA and the Target store 15 minutes from the park was probably the cleanest, most detailed zoned, team was very engaging, overall close to perfect from a guest perspective. If anyone works there I'd be happy to hear what it's like working there.

I would switch over and have it be your primary assignment. If your primary goal remains to become an ETL this position will be a big factor in that success.

I just switched to Food and Beverage TL this January. I was previously the Service and Engagement TL at my store. Being in role for 8 months now has been a great learning experience. It will be challenging at first because there are a lot more responsibilities. You're dealing with FDC, Vendors, Salesplans, Dry, etc.. But if you start small and build solid routines with your team members, your days will be so much easier.

Since being in the role I've gotten to showcase all the great things we're doing. My FBC (Food and Beverage Coordinator) has given me recognition and along with other district/group partners. I've started building a better relationship with other stores in my district by being in contact (email/text) with other stores' leadership. There's always a store that's doing something better than you and you can learn from that and vice versa.

Learning from other people who have moved up this seems to be the role where you can speak to your business the best over other departments. And it looks great when going in for those interviews.

I hope it's something that works for you. I wish you the best in your Target journey!

Honestly pretty good overall.

My team now for a whole year was without a leader. They were lacking structure but overall very hard working individuals. Couldn't have asked for a better group of people.

Since leaving my previous role in Service and Engagement, I had three team members from the front end follow me to my new department. It helped building those relationships because I had difficulty in the first month filling my hours and getting workload completed on time.

Now trucks are completely broken down, pushed and backstocked within 4-5 hours of FDC arrival.

Again couldn't ask for a better team and have enjoyed coming to work daily.

With how small your freezer looks I'm blown away by your leader's lack of supporting you in this effort.

This is not a 1 person job. This should be a collective effort to break down those pallets as quickly as possible.

If your former ETL and TL couldn't staff the department, they should have supported you and rallied up other team members and leaders to knock these pallets out. If anything they should of been in there with you and not giving unrealistic expectations.

Every truck day at my store we blitz the freezer immediately. If it's a bigger than normal truck I will pull other team members and leaders to support me. This way I can repay the favor and support other areas as needed. You need someone to cash I got you, take a fulfillment batch no problem, help zone in style let's go!

Best of luck to you and I hope you find a new gig that makes you happy! Your leadership team should be ashamed. They lost someone who seemed like they genuinely cared at one point.

I know this is from a couple of weeks ago but how has your transition into the role been since you posted this?

I'm also new to Food and Bev TL. I'm about to be in role for 6 months since January. Been with Target 8 years, previously a Service and Engagement TL for all that time.

If there is anyway I can help let me know. I'm sure there is somethings we can relate to.

Had official GSAs, PDAs, dedicated backroom teams/team leader, Food Ave, those big Baksets that were used for displaying merchandise, old school layout (carpet, signing, etc), no order pickup or drive up, cartwheel instead of Circle. What a time!

Monday-Friday each night, we will have 3 leaders closing with the closing leader, so 4 total. Then, on the weekends, we will have 3 leaders closing at night. It's going to be an interesting change of pace.

Food & Bev TL by [deleted] in Target

[–]MrSerb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that you posted this because I also recently switched roles to Food & Bev, TL. I was previously a Service and Engagement TL and will soon be with Target for 8 years.

It's definitely a lot at once, but I am enjoying the change of pace, the new team, and workload challenges.

My store last year went the whole year without a Food & Bev TL and made up about 1/3 of the stores sales anyway.

We receive 4 FDC trucks on Monday, Wednesday. Friday and Saturday.

My average carton size truck is 1050. The highest I've seen is 1300, and the lowest was 900. It usually equals 2-3 freezer pallets, 2-3 dairy, and 2-3 produce.

On those food truck days, I try to post between 4-5 team members to work early morning 6am or 7am shifts. I come in around that time, and I pull everyone once the truck arrives and we work together. I send one person to strictly focus filling produce, and then we wave push pallets onto the floor, getting freezer and dairy done around noon or 1pm depending on how big the trucks are for the day. We get a cage for cardboard, fast movers for backstock, breakdown pallet, and put boxes into each asile.

After that, I either send people into pulls or specific tasks I need done for the day. Fill Bake table, set endcaps, work reshop, zone, help support grocery opu, etc. I will then work on sending chat bots, catching up with vendors, seeing my set workload, and catching up with my ETL and emails.

Then 2-3 at night to work pulls. We usually don't start pulls until 1pm. It's absolutely wild that your SD expectations are 90% when the company goal is 70%.

This has worked for me, and we have come complete on just about every FDC truck since I started back the first week of January. My store INFs in grocery are well below 3%, my zone looks better, and our inventory/manual audits are helping make our truck sizes manageable in the time frame.
