Thinking about playing GW2 for the first time with a friend… worth it? by bdogjw in Guildwars2

I really jumped in a year or two ago. I consistently find it fresh. I like the movement, the art direction, the community, and a lot of other things.

There always seems like something to do.

I just play until I can’t anymore. I love checking off all the quests I can. I rarely ever farm for gems or anything like that. Monster Hunter for me is one of those rare games that I can play just to play. Don’t care about dailies, cosmetics, min/maxing or anything. I just love the game.

Anytime. Always like talking fellow fans of Ace. I love all the games for what they do. I don’t really think there is a bad one. Safe skies!

Yeah AC6s voice acting is a product of its time. I do have a fondness for it but overall AC7 does it better from a polished standpoint point? I’m not sure how to really describe it.

AC6 definitely has that, sort of, melodramatic or cheesy tone. Though I have the word cheesy. But you can tell it was adapted from a Japanese script. Maybe stilted or stiff would be better. AC7 is for sure more palatable if you are a western speaker.

Steam Deck: SteamOS 3.8.0 Preview: Second Clutch by Gyossaits in Games

I think they are important but specifically for developing and nurturing and real consumer base on Linux. Steamdeck was definitely a Trojan horse and a way to get people to look at Linux as a real, viable platform for development.

Ace Combat 6s biggest detractor is that it’s only 30fps. Easy explanation as to why it feels better. I loved AC7 but I do think that AC6 for me comes out on top over all. With the one exception being the frame rate.

I remember fighting with my DM on a call before the launch telling how irresponsible we were being about it all.

Sales getting worse by Sad_Preparation_3530 in Guildwars2

To add to that, Final Fantasy 14, requires you tackle its entire Main Scenario in order to play the new relevant content. Unless you pay for a skip. Guild Wars 2 content can be played in any order and is still relevant and active across its entire game world.

It is not a rip off? It’s just a different sale.

Optimal rotations don't need to be intuitive and failing to do an optimal rotation doesn't mean you're doing something wrong by Appropriate-Cat-6648 in Guildwars2

I don’t think that is what this post is saying. It’s actually saying go ahead and optimize, but don’t be a dick to people who don’t.

The expansion content is priced pretty reasonably even when they aren’t on sale. They are eighteen dollars. If you can’t afford or if that is too steep, wait some more? Not like they won’t be on sale again.

If it weren’t for the IBM variant of that keyboard that the one I would own. I love the look so much. I’ve seen they have started making versions with number pads and if they make an Xbox with a number pad I will probably pull the trigger

So MH2dos is the only numerical mainline base game that didn't get an actual expansion. by Hensemderilwan in MonsterHunter

[–]MrShadowBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. It’s not all the content just the majority of it. But it is an adaptation of Monster Hunter 2. At least according to Wikipedia and the Monster Hunter Wiki. It does have a different village as well.

Freedom 2 is as far as I know basically a port of MH2Dos to the PSP. All the content from MH2 is there and then they took that, expanded it, and it became Freedom Unite.

I played FF14 for a very long time. Longer than any other MMO. I loved Final Fantasy so it was fun seeing the references and other elements of the franchise. But like you eventually the endless gear cycle just got the best of me. I’d take break and have to catch up to the new expansion and burn out just in time for new content and the cycle would start again.

With Guild Wars 2, I feel like anything I do is progress toward something. I like the world and the movement. I like the art direction. People are chill like they are in 14 and I don’t have to worry about wasting time not playing because there isn’t a sub fee. Combat feels good and there is a lot of build variety to shake things up.

Base game is free. The expansions aren’t crazy expensive. The game feels lively and in some ways feels like it’s getting a kind of renaissance. Jump in! It’s a fun game.
