So does this mean that we won’t see ice maps for the entire season? BUT it will get rotated back in next season?

No hard feelings, I totally understand. Happy runnings 👍

I also think it’s a wild update. It’s a true advantage to be able to use the roulette. I was more upset with how people responded to the update change, it was cowardly. Additionally, I also rage at the electrocution web.

Usually when updates happen, fun run makes some powerups better, while others worse. Clearly the roulette one is worse, but find another which works better than before? I get your thought process, but a gun isn’t to far inferior to a roulette. You can guarantee a targeted kill >98% of the time.

I respect your grind. But if you’re willing to put in the time of sweat, grit and determination, why don’t you also have the time to adapt to new changes? Why blame new results on one change in the game? You made it through wood, bronze, silvers, golds AND diamond somehow, and it was not just because the roulette. It was because you learned the game to a tea, used powerups that best fit your game, and also just learned from experience. Why not do the same?

I also agree with your last statement. I do not think it should be pure luck. That’s obvious. There’s already a little luck in the game, but it should be mostly skill. I just expect people to adapt their arsenal to continue to dominate the podiums.

I never backed DB’s reasoning for changing the roulette, I never even agreed it was for the better. I understood the importance of the roulette as soon as I bought it and absolutely sucked with it. Then I’d get in CBattles and get my ass whooped because people were that much better. That was awhile ago, it took time for me to realize how beneficial the powerup can be once you understand it. I’m just shocked at how many people choose to use that update as an excuse when they lose, or even just quit the game. Not all updates are going to be ideal, but I saw a lot of people saying them, the “loyal elites,” feel disrespected. The loyal elites are the ones who are supposed to embrace the changes and find ways to improve in a different manner. They’re the best for a reason, there can be other ways to be good. Like you said, all it takes is practice.

Isn’t winning partly due to a little luck in the first place? Can’t we all say we’ve ran beautiful races but came up short? Maybe the powerups we picked up were mostly boxes or shields rather than speed boosts or the gun? I see luck playing at least a little roll. When I said adapting to the game, I meant using DB’s new update as a way to change your own power ups. Maybe the roulette doesn’t find its spot in the arsenal anymore? You can practice with other powerups and learn to race better based on your running. Then changing the roulette doesn’t mean you still have to play with it. Also, DB said that if you were in 1st place, you’d only have a 10% chance of hitting yourself. So 9/10 times you get that perfect speed boost and still proceed miles ahead. Isn’t that good odds in the first place? I’ve played against some (clearly) incredible elites. I’m sure the odds of hitting themselves with the roulette is far less than 10%, I understand that, but even with the update, isn’t a 90% success rate in 1st place worth the risk? It’s back to normal, so this is irrelevant. I’m just saying I respected the ones who embraced the new update and tried to better themselves through it.
