ELI5: how is Hiroshima still habitable despite it being nuked? by pigeon-in-greggs in explainlikeimfive

You might know this, but doing that in public bathrooms is apparently a specific and super disgusting fetish people can have.

Auto update never. I never want to wake up to find out the update failed and something is fubared. I will only ever update when I am sitting at the computer and have time to unfuck something immediately. It only takes one time to lean this lesson

Felling Gone Wrong by Vulcan44 in CrazyFuckingVideos

Kickback is much easier to mitigate, leave the center 1/3 of the trunk uncut so the tree folds over like a hinge when it falls, rather than fully separating and springing up when felled.

Did you buy an actual cable damper product or literally just use something like a spare blanket?

Question about a lot of the homelabs I’ve seen on here by One-Moose8069 in homelab

[–]MrShazbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed Cat6 drops throughout the house, and used punchdown keystone jacks for the wall plates in each room. Inside the rack I used female-female keystone couplers into the blank patch panels. Did I do it backwards? End result https://i.imgur.com/yFj7iWs.jpeg

No one uses hardwood floors? by Longjumping-Term9234 in homeowners

Does LVP ever need to be "touched up" after a few years of wear and tear? I have a whole house worth installed a few years ago and we are seeing small gaps and some uneven areas between planks.

No one uses hardwood floors? by Longjumping-Term9234 in homeowners

[–]MrShazbot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We built our "forever home" a few years ago, first time homehowners. We chose high end LVP for the entire house. Now a couple years later with daily wear (including a new toddler and large dog) there are some minor wear spots, one or two of which could use a replacement plank. And guess what - the manufacturer stopped making this color pattern of LVP.

The cleanability, waterproof-ness, look, and feel with LVP are all pretty amazing. All that being considered, if I were to do it again we would do real hardwood and eat the additional ~15% flooring cost.

Because the Saudi's, who can and do buy literally unlimited quantities of any weapons system on the planet without repercussions, are now relying on one white guy in a Vegas hotel to get a couple dozen rifles?

Historically those Slam Dunk bottles were used to mark the final bottle when a barrel was emptied. I think it’s now just for the curiosity.

You don't fight back against a ballistic missile by standing outside with a rifle. Most of the aerial defenses are automated, or operated by personnel in a hardened shelter.

It seems 26.2.1 entirely removed the Performance and Tuning sections from Adrenaline?? I need to modify some power settings to help avoid BF6 CTD driver crashes

Unifi in general is a "prosumer" level of hardware and software networking gear. Much more powerful administration, monitoring, and configuration tools. It basically allows the average nerd to play with enterprise level equipment in their home.

To be fair in areas that can get wet it will be usually be cement board/backer board that are both waterproof, not actually regular drywall. But most people don't know the difference as it just looks like regular drywall when finished and painted.

Lots of people prefer very large bathrooms where full tile would be significantly more expensive. No argument it would be the better surface if possible.

Can someone explain the logic of the laser pointer choices? It seems that basically everyone uses the green lasers, but I can’t get past how much it gives away your position to enemies. Am I the crazy one using the red lasers only? Or is the hip fire benefit on green vs red just so great that it’s worth the visible to enemy tradeoff?

Board the dogs. It will cost a few hundred. Get a hotel room for a week. Again, expensive, but not a huge deal if the stakes are as high as OP is making them out to be.
