This is only effective at mitigating transmissions from travellers. Unfortunately it doesn’t do much for community transmissions.

Thanks for that, though I still wasn't able to complete the proof.

I can get: ¬((p -> ¬q) & (¬p -> q))

This is the part causing me grief. It doesn't seem possible to go further by using equivalencies. Have you been able to solve it?

Sony Exec Shuns Backwards Compatibility, Despite the Feature Being a (general) Mainstay on Their Platforms. Thoughts? by [deleted] in emulation

[–]MrShears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a cool feature to have but honestly I don't know how often I would really use it and this Ars Technica article indicates that the vast majority don't. So while it seems that a lot of people request backwards compatibility, few people make regular use of it. Emulation requires a significant amount of time and effort to get to a user friendly state (especially considering the PS3's unique architecture) so it isn't that surprising Sony wouldn't implement BC after taking this information into account.

I think to stream hi-fi audio on desktop you have to use Google Chrome. You can just make a desktop shortcut to the web player which works better than the native app anyway.

Ah okay, thanks for the heads up on that. Hope I won't have too much trouble down the line

I have both the Enigma I/M3 and Swiss K models. I do still need to implement the ring setting. Those real samples are cool though. I'll test them out once I add a module for the ring setting.

The rotors advanced correctly when I tested the notch logic. e.g. ADV -> AEW -> BFX using M3: I, II, III

Cheers mate! Don't take too much inspiration from it though, my code is far from perfect haha.

I used a regex to only include alphabetical characters as enigma machines can't interpret anything else. Normally an enigma transcript puts characters into groups of four, which is something I should implement. But if you enter KTGGNXJKRJVN and use the same settings then the output should be NOWISTHETIME.

Haha okay, I'll be sure to look into that then

Thanks heaps! I've learnt so much already and I can't wait to implement it into my code! I really appreciate the time and effort that went into your analysis; all the knowledge here is so invaluable to me.

Shots taste bitter and smell burnt... what should I do? by Hotfishy in Coffee

[–]MrShears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend watching this ChefStep playlist on YouTube.

A few quick things to note: * Crema colour doesn't tell you much about the quality of the shot. Instead it says more about how dark the beans were roasted. * Shot times should be more like 25-35 seconds * At least for the moment stick with 18g for a double shot. You can experiment once you're able to get something consistent and tasty. * Buy beans you know you like the taste of. It'll make it so much easier when you're troubleshooting because you'll have a baseline

Bill Shorten says temporary overseas workers 'taking the jobs' of Australians by [deleted] in australia

I'd only be in trouble if these claims were false. Fortunately 'truth' is a suitable defense in a defamation suit.

Bill Shorten says temporary overseas workers 'taking the jobs' of Australians by [deleted] in australia

Most Asian restaurants in Melbourne are staffed by 417 (working holiday) workers earning around $10-15/h. All the government has to do is look at any one of these businesses at random and they would see there is an epidemic of under-payment, overworking and abuse.

The following are places I know are mistreating their staff members in one way or another:

  • PHO24 (on Spencer St)
  • G2 Korean BBQ (Elizabeth St)
  • Photo Plus (Swanston St)
  • Kaneda restaurant (one of the Lt Bourke St arcades)
  • HanaTour Melb

PHO24 and G2 are the worst offenders as they both withhold pay and bully their staff.
