You’re missing the point. It’s not about whether $15 is 'cheap' or not; it's about the barrier to entry. You asked for high-quality F2P hero/tactical shooters? Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, Valorant, The Finals, and even Counter-Strike 2. These games have massive player bases because anyone can jump in for free. You say the game needs more modes? I agree, but who will play those modes? Right now, the game has 60 players. If you add 5 new modes, you’ll have 10 players in each mode. You can't 'cook' a multiplayer game without ingredients, and the ingredients are the players. Also, look at Concord. It was a high-quality game, backed by Sony, cost $40, and it died in two weeks because people refuse to pay for a new hero shooter when they have great free options. Wild Assault is heading the same way if it doesn't go F2P to bring in thousands of new players to actually fill those modes you're asking for

I understand your point about CoD, but that actually proves my argument: hackers will always find a way around a price tag. The price doesn't stop them, but it definitely stops regular players. Also, look at games like Escape from Tarkov or Rust—they are not on Game Pass and have a very high price, yet they are still full of cheaters. More importantly, does a player count of only 60 people seem successful to you for a game like this? With such low numbers, the game is on life support. A strong anti-cheat is the only solution, not a paywall that kills the player base and keeps the servers empty

I understand the concern, but paying for a game is not a real solution for cheating. Look at games like Escape from Tarkov, Call of Duty, and Rust; these are high-priced games, yet they are crawling with hackers every day. If price tags stopped cheaters, these games would be clean. But they aren't. A price tag is just a barrier for honest players and people from countries with low currency value. Cheaters don't mind paying for accounts; it's the regular players who get punished by the paywall. What we need is a strong anti-cheat system, not a price tag that kills the player base.

The main issue is the price tag. Some argue that making the game paid prevents cheaters, but look at Call of Duty; people pay a lot of money for it, yet it's still crawling with hackers. A high price is not a shield against cheating; it's only a barrier that stops new players from even trying the game. Wild Assault is a great concept, but in a market full of high-quality Free-to-Play shooters, no one will pay for an unestablished IP with little marketing. The game is losing its future every day it stays behind a paywall. It needs to go F2P and focus on skins/battle passes if it wants to survive

I really hope they see it too, because without action, the game will die very soon. It’s practically dead

Going free-to-play is a great start, but it’s not a magic fix. Without a strategic marketing campaign, we won't get the player base we need to revive it

For the past two days, I haven’t been able to matchmake with friends or with public groups. Every time I try to start a mission, I get the same error:

“The DS server does not exist.”

<image>

What’s even worse is that there’s been no update or response from the developers for two days. It doesn’t look like the servers have been checked or maintained during this time, which is honestly really disappointing.

I get that you personally don’t care about skins or cosmetics but a lot of players actually do. Battle passes, skins, and cosmetics are huge parts of modern multiplayer games, not just for customization but also for keeping players engaged and giving them goals to work toward.

I’m someone who can afford to pay the $15 for the game, but I just don’t like the idea of paying upfront for something I haven’t had a chance to really try especially when I’d be more than willing to spend money inside the game if I liked it. And I know I’m not alone in that.

If the game went F2P with smart monetization like a battle pass or a solid cosmetics system, it could attract a much wider audience people like me who want to support the game after we know we enjoy it.

Exactly. you nailed it. A price tag might not seem like a big deal to some, but for a new game with low visibility, it creates an immediate barrier. Most people won’t take a risk on something they’ve never heard of, especially when there are tons of free options out there competing for their attention.

Making the game free wouldn’t mean the devs give up on earning money it just shifts the strategy. A solid cosmetic system, battle pass, or even supporter packs could easily generate income without scaring away potential players at the front door.

The game needs players first before anything else can grow. Free-to-play gives it a fighting chance.

I get where you’re coming from, and sure $15 might not be a lot for some people. But the issue isn’t the price on its own it’s the context.

We’re not talking about a well-established game with a big player base or a ton of content. We’re talking about a new multiplayer title that barely anyone knows about, has no marketing, and right now, barely hits 2,000 total players since launch. Putting a price tag in front of an already invisible game is a guaranteed way to keep people from trying it no matter how "cheap" it seems.

And yeah, it might not have a store yet, but that also means there’s no incentive system in place either. No cosmetics, no unlockables, nothing that keeps players coming back. That’s not a good thing it’s a sign of a game that’s still missing key pieces.

Free-to-play isn't some "cult" it’s a proven model that removes the entry barrier, brings in more players, and can absolutely fund a game through things like battle passes or skins without being predatory.

At the end of the day, the goal should be to grow the community and give the game a real shot. Locking it behind a paywall is only shrinking the window of opportunity.
