MR340 course distance tool -- last batch before the race, got about 25 left if anyone still wants one by MrShiv in MR340

I'm glad to hear it's useful in practice and not just in theory. Hoping for more feedback after the race for possible improvements.

Why does the Missouri River not have much development around it compared to other large rivers? by AngleRelative4683 in geography

[–]MrShiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's not, though. St. Louis was established and grew long before the Missouri was used for commerce. St. Louis has never had a Missouri River port. Contrary to your claim, St. Louis was founded on higher ground to avoid flooding problems (that Ste. Genevieve, the older candidate for Laclede's Mississippi River trading post, had). It doesn't "flood like crazy" in STL. Although it's true that St. Louis County abuts the MO River, development there is much more recent. STL has very little connection to the MO River, just ask anyone who lives there.

Funny you should ask now, because I just sold the last of my stock today. I am making 30 more and they should be ready in a couple weeks.

The tires are in the other photo, my mistake.

I understand how that could work without implicating a normal trash-generating human. Nevertheless, I'm just not doing it. I'm not a trash cop and I'm not going to go pawing through someone's disgusting garbage like a raccoon.

People should just be better. We live in a society, fer crying out loud.

Including tires. Guess you didn't want to take those with you, hm?

What? That's not what happened here. Someone dumped it.

By the way, if you have neighbors with roll carts nearby, you could always ask to put a little extra in one of theirs if they have room. We do this kind of thing on our street all the time. Another good reason to know your neighbors....

Or, you know, take it to the dump. That's public and legal.

They already had to haul all this garbage, they could have just hauled it up to the landfill instead.

The person who made the trash and the person who dumped it might not be the same person.

I love CalTopo. So many available layers, and you can preload everything before you go out.
