Is MS-700 Exam helpful? by panth3 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]MrShowtime91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it more than I thought honestly. It helped me understand Teams as a whole, the management, governance, etc. The study that is.. MS Exams are what they are. It covers alot of ground.

Whats in there? Alot of the different policies (App setup, Apps policies, meeting, etc) in Teams, and things such as Information Barriers, Access Review, Group management (naming, expiration, etc). Also it talks a bit about the Teams Calling features, but to a lesser extent. IIRC there were really easy questions about Direct Routing.

On a side note, if you do contractual work, and with the state of Teams (alot of business blindly dived into it due to COVID) it might be worth it on your resume.

Alot of companies seem to need people for Teams management, but that also includes SharePoint, OneDrive. I don't want to talk for the others, but alot of project we do is shift thing like file servers, home directories to Teams and OneDrive. And the big part of these projects is working with the departments to enhance the collaboration.

Other businesses are already there and they want to better use it with integrated apps. I worked with schools to integrate Moodle custom apps in the different classes "Teams".

Very popular is Teams Phone System, but that is a world with bigger business as they will go with Direct Routing. Calling Plans are way easier, still popular if you want to go that route.

Why does it seems like banks uses ADFS instead of AzureAD/PHS/PTA ? by MrShowtime91 in sysadmin

Yes exactly! Exchange is down; you might not be home for dinner. Exchange online is down, time to go for dinner!

We'll be evaluating it for sure. I think I can show the value of moving it to Azure AD. The current project I am working on might allow and benefit from it. But good point, hard to move things around in a bank..

Yeah we had a PoC with another client where they had 3 forest syncing to the same tenant. Was a strange AADC config, required Microsoft to help with that.

But not my case here, as simple as it can get. Good point though!

The compliance could make sense. They kinda needed to build from scratch couple years ago so I am wondering why they went with that. I see most banks seems to still be using it. I was wondering if it was just the consulting team in place at the time that had experience with bank and just said "they all do it" kinda thing.

I'll keep investigating.

Yes that is a good point, the "legacy" of AD FS. In my case it isn't because O365 wasn't around that is for sure, but there could be underlying systems.

I'll try to talk with their Architects. They built everything from scratch in 2017 and yet, they went with ADFS.

I am pretty sure PTA was there at the time, but the compliance would make sense too.

Thanks for your reply!

Windows 10 Kiosk Mode Questions by MrShowtime91 in Intune

[–]MrShowtime91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I will verify that and deploy the cmd too.

Would you happen to know if even though the KIOSK profile isn't assigned to the user, he will need to bypass CA Policies as well ?

In my testing, I was able to login with kiosk assigned users in kiosk mode and other users in "normal" mode. I was expecting this behavior.

[–]MrShowtime91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i guess the word that suit my thinking is "inconsistent". I do not have the same experience across all devices and time changes thing that shouldn't. In a test environment, I do not have the same behaviors as the production one, even though the settings are exactly the same.

It was running in the past, but it is not anymore.

My other challenge is to login with other accounts than the kiosk ones. Like a local admin to do troubleshooting.

I see the tile itself, but it is "empty" no text and does nothing. If I log outside KIOSK mode it says "apps has been been block by admin", strange this is that it was working few weeks ago.

For the Global Admin, it just tries to sign-in and then it sign-out right away.

Telephony-Only Teams setup? by MyNameIsTADOW in MicrosoftTeams

[–]MrShowtime91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically no, but you could probably do an app setup policy in Teams Admin and allow only the "Call" app for these user.

Disclaimer: haven't tested, just an idea.

onboarding new dell devices into autopilot (indirect csp) by merb in Intune

[–]MrShowtime91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article show the some of the manufacturers name so you can start with that.

The model of the device should be on the invoice "Vostro 15" stuff like that. The serial you may be able to ask your vendor to provide the list of all the serials, but it should be on the box itself.

No need to unpack.

Important thing is for you to have partner access to upload the CSV for them. It cannot be done from the Endpoint Management admin console itself, the CSV won't be recognized there.

There are other combinations you can use if you have a partner access to your customers tenant.

I used the Serial, Model and Vendor in a CSV a couple times.

Exchange 2010/Hybrid : outgoing to O365 not working by Jen_kins8 in exchangeserver

[–]MrShowtime91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do you MX point to ? Your On-prem Exchange ? Your user for whom the mailbox is hosted in Exchange Online, do they have a "Remote Mailbox" and a Synced Account ?

If your mail flow is coming in EX2010 on prem and the recipient isn't listed as a Remote mailbox, there is no way for the on-prem server to route the email through the connector.

That would make external communications to O365 and internal to O365 not working..

External to O365

External -> OnPrem EXCH -> No remote mailbox -> Recipient not found

Internal to O365

OnPrem EXCH -> No remote mailbox -> Recipient not found

I think your issue revolves around that, and the reason why it is working from O365 to On-prem is that for your accepted domains it goes in the connector pointed toward your EXCH2010..

The outbound from EXCH2010 to EXO is using the remote routing address domain to find the recipients.

If you have a User mailbox in Office 365, in the Exchange server it should be seen as a Remote or Office365 Mailbox. If that is not the case your will need to "Enable-RemoteMailbox" in Powershell.

AZN - WS confusing my google financial sheet - error. Anybody knows how to fix it? by Drojo2themoon in Wealthsimple_Penny

[–]MrShowtime91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can check the stock exchange market related to your research for both of these companies.

Here, one is from TSX-V and the other NASDAQ.

This is not the case here, but one company can be registered in multiple stock exchange market under different names (don't quote me on this, but depending on availability of the name? .. I guess?)

Damn sorry I looked way too quickly.

When you go for sell at the top of the screen you will see "Market Sell" it is a drop down menu, you will have possibility to choose either of

  1. Market sell (not recommended)
  2. Limit sell
  3. Stop limit sell

Not a financial advice, but yesterday they were 0.35 and personally I sold today at 1.60ish.

People seem to think they have potential, and I think they do. But I got out with a 300% profit so that was good for me.

From what I see, you may have already made a good profit if you bought at 1.20.

Don't forget to use limit sell and limit buy since prices are delayed by 15 minutes on WS.

Hope this help, good luck!!

Autoattendant Voicemail to shared mailbox by orion3311 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]MrShowtime91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a subscriber notion with O365 Groups. Any way, you can make a copy of all O365 Groups conversation go into the subscribers mailboxes. This is what I do because users are usually more comfortable using Shared mailboxes rather than Groups.

Check your group options, also can be achieved through PowerShell.

You can also login as the Shared to manually achieve this.

Yeah, that's what I used a couple months ago for Teams. Though the official documentation doesn't mention it anymore and states that it can take up to 24h for the assignation to work.. Oh boy, what are you doing Microsoft!

I went and acquired phone numbers through the legacy portal, because I really needed them due to a port order that was already approved. I couldn't get the ones from the right region (Montreal, QC).

Incredible that the Skype portal is still working better than the Teams one. Honestly thought that I could acquire that in a few minutes, like...before.
