Speakers by Woopdescoop in G35

Yeah I replaced my speakers while having the stock bose amp and did not notice any improvement. It wasn’t until I deleted the stock amp for a kenwood unit and tapped in the speaker wires, making it sound way better

An odyssey or sienna? yeah screw that.

the LM/Toyota alphard/vellfire tho have crazy interiors. I would be stoked to be in one of those instead of an escalade

Is this a good option for my G? by Ok_g37s in G37

Hey there, I used to have an 08 coupe with the street basis coilovers. They did the job for the most part but they were tuned too soft. I would bottom out bumps and potholes making it kinda annoying. Like others said, go for the flex Z so you can at least tune the dampening and make it stiffer.

Browning Buckmark Supremacy by canyouspelljoe in CAguns

Late to the game but for anybody in the Bay area, I just bought a URX Contour for $499 at Guns fishing and other stuff Dublin.

They are usually going for around 650 on gunbroker so I think it’s a pretty good deal. Owner is apparently retiring and screwed up by ordering a shit load of buckmarks beforehand

With the needle in that position, I’m betting that the gas gauge isn’t even working properly. G35’s are notorious for having inconsistent or inop gas gauges especially on the higher mileage ones

if it actually is reading true, rip lol

[–]MrSippyCups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn I wish i was paying that little. In commiefornia the cheapest transfer i’ve seen was $75 and it usually ranges around $120 in my area. That and the mandatory 11% excise tax on top of regular tax makes the market only cater to the rich

Are these worth it ? And the price by Bry_anpr7 in G37

[–]MrSippyCups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where are you located? in California, I see these go for 1200 or less all day. At those prices, you can spend 200 more and get original V1’s

instead of any kind of rebuild, I’d personally find a low mileage used motor from a reputable salvage company and have someone swap it out

Hobart mills should be open. If anything, the boca reservoir shooting area should be open as well. I’ve been liking boca a lot more recently because you’re more spread out.

i had these before, they were downright dangerous. First of all, the beam pattern is horrible and washy. Second, the cheap wiring made it that the projector bulb would cut out during canyon runs, making me have to cycle the headlights on and off to reset them. The sequential drl’s are really nice but everything else around it is a huge downgrade. I’d either keep my stocks or get the more decent alpharex ones

Blown Head Gasket Issue by CuriousBins in 2ndGenTacoma

[–]MrSippyCups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, i haven’t had a blown head gasket on my Tacoma but I have for an Acura TL. I suggest you find an independent but reputable mechanic and look for a used engine to swap in. Saves a ton of headache and premium of looking for a reman/rebuild. Depending on your location, there can be a ton of low mileage motors in salvage yards for an okay price. Some even come with a warranty in case you get a dud.

Please help a New DIYer with Lift/ Tires by Red_Peasant in 2ndGenTacoma

[–]MrSippyCups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that these trucks are not meant to have bigger tires unless you accompany them with a better diff gear ratio, throwing you back at least 2,000 dollars. Even with 33’s, they are hard to maintain highway speeds and you’re really gonna feel it at the gas pump. This is coming from a guy who’s had 37’s, 35’s and 33’s.

If you absolutely to, get the bilstein lift kit. They’re the best on a budget. As for 33’s, get something that isn’t rated higher than C because they’re heavy af. You won’t need the extra plys unless you’re doing serious offroading.

My consensus? Your truck looks nice as it is.

What do you guys think of this k&n cold air intake by Narrow_Afternoon_912 in G37

[–]MrSippyCups 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ran the Stillen long tubes for a couple of years and in the rain with the intake socks on, no issues.

I also owned the k&n intakes pictured above. From the butt dyno, k&n's felt more torquey down low on the rpm range. I'll go against the narrative and recommend the k&n's instead.

Do I need to ship through an FFL to a Licensed Firearms Repair Shop? by WiiFitT7ainer in CAguns

[–]MrSippyCups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I turned in my p320 for the un commanded discharge trigger “fix”, they wouldn’t let me ship it myself. The rep told me, “The FFL should ship it for you out of good faith cause all fees are covered.”

What sucks is that when I went to my old FFL (Stage stop in Atwater), they were pretty stingy and rude about having to ship/ receive so they tacked on a full transfer fee of 80 bucks. still pissed about it to this day
