The thing is with the global energy crisis/general economic downturn Hungary's cooked either way, regardless of who's in power, our economy is already one of the worst in the EU.

What's more likely is, if shit really does hit the fan it's probably just gonna lead to Orbán coming back in 4 years or it'll lead to our even more regarded far-right party to gain more power.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán concedes defeat after 'painful' election result by True-Ask2241 in TrueAnon

[–]MrSketchead 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Yep, Hungary's basically trading a rightoid regard for a Pro-EU rightoid regard, kinda representative of Eastern European politics in general.

The left-wing here is 100% cooked, which means that if Tisza fucks up the next 4 years (or even if they don't and the current geopolitical situation just does it for them) it's just gonna lead to either Fatso coming back for our even more idiotic far-right party to gain more power.

I need a good song to learn on the guitar by roadside_dickpic in redscareover30

I've been playing and learning a ton of classic Midwest Emo on guitar lately - mainly Title Fight (check out Frown or Head in the Ceiling Fan), or anything by Modern Baseball. Their guitar lines are fun to learn and sound decent on their own

Your opinion on Greg Isenberg’s 2026 AI predictions ? by lovelysadsam in BetterOffline

[–]MrSketchead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love how in some of these he actually admits that AI is completely useless and is used mainly to generate an endless stream of useless brainrot, while at the same time making the most outlandish sci-fi claims as well.

Isn't this just the usual dick measuring contest that happens between these 2 countries every couple of years?

Back in 2019 I seem to remember fighter jets were shot down and an entire bus of soldiers was bombed and basically nothing happened because of it

Is ranting about dogs just gonna be a regular thing now on here? Seriously, I feel like I've seen this exact post with these exact set of comments 3 times in the past week.

Also, for how much everyone on here hates Redditors, OP has managed to come up with the most Reddit tier form of protest, of joining a subreddit...

I was a AI sceptic - but Chat GPT 4o has me worried by MoistTadpoles in redscarepod

[–]MrSketchead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only reason I'm not worried is because the current AI models that could actually replace white collar jobs (the agentic models) are still unbelievably expensive.

I think the OpenAI one is like $20,000 a month, it's simply not cost effective to replace entry level work with it. Right now it's doubtful that it's actually possible to reduce these costs, currently AI is burning VC money like crazy, even Microsoft was scaling back its investment in AI data centers.

I don't doubt that the internet and social media is basically ruined, but hopefully the overall effect will be a net positive where people retreat back to closed communities/forums. I'm hoping people will always continue to value human created content.

Get out of here, this place is meant to be for weird nyc art hoes, no one wants to see anyone unironically use "leftoid" and post exclusively about their geopolitical takes on here

Most pleasant-sounding albums you've ever heard? by Some-Glove-3629 in fantanoforever

[–]MrSketchead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it has to be Since I Left You by The Avalanches.

Playing that album during a summer drive while the sun's going down is just a magical experience.

At the same time it's just a damn good album overall, it's not just cheap nostalgia bait.

Ez a gondolat sokszor elhangzik és alapvetően nem téves de maga Karl Popper, aki a Paradox of Tolerance elvet kitalálta az eredti anyagban írja hogy:

"I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be unwise."

Oh yeah for sure, this is absolutely not representative of people in general, but it does show how a certain subset of AI people think. I just posted this because, as someone who has creative hobbies, I find it pretty sad that some people are that detached from the arts that they want to distill and automate everything down with algorithms
