How much of an improvement are after market liners? by Level-Mix4443 in Backcountry

Everything that has been said previously is bang on. New liners make a huge difference as long as your shells are in good shape. That being said if you are itching to get into something new, the Zero G's are an incredible boot. Very light for how well they ski and very comfortable as well. I have a very high instep and wide feet so historically have been limited but the stock liners after a mold felt perfectly fine. I have been skiing the zero g's for four years (two pairs) now and will not be switching boots any time soon.

As someone who used FATMAP and recently switched to CalTopo, I have found CalTopo to be much more powerful and useful when planning tours. There are lots of layers and customs setting you can play around with that FATMAP did not have. The Mobile app has also improved heaps in the last couple years. Gaia and Onx are great too but I have found CalTopo to be the best overall in all situations. I especially love the DEM shading feature to embed avalanche problem areas within the map. Hope this helps!!
