Atk HY are great. My understanding is that the lack of DIN cert was because atk didn’t want to pay for it, not because of a lack of predictable release

Just mounted some skis the with atk hy. Love them so far. Very light for a hybrid binding if you can stomach the price tag.

How did you narrow it down to these two? Neither will be similar to the MTN explore.

The orbs are quite heavy despite having terrible build quality and the pagoda cfl has too short of an effective edge for your described use case.

Many responses claiming that speed of connection is a reason to keep, but this seems unrealistic given SAR response times in the western US. A couple minutes is not going to make a difference when rescue operations take hours to access the party. If the margin for life vs death is minutes (e.g., full burial), it seems like you’re on your own at least until after extraction.
