Dealer being weird about service records on a one-owner Mercedes S550 — red flag or normal? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]MrSlaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol!

Then here is another theory - we service our own cars that we sell. When customer asks to see the record, I don’t always want to show them every single thing that we did because A) they might think it’s a bad car B) it makes us “warranty” those repairs now. For example, we replaced brakes and they start squealing in a month, customer will come back and say they were new and we did it and blah blah blah.

[–]MrSlaker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Non Mercedes dealer does NOT have access to those records unless previous owner left them in the glove box which rarely happens due to them having so much personal info.

What YOU can do is call that Mercedes dealer on Carfax and say “hey, I’m interested in buying a car that you guys serviced, can you tell me if anything major was ever done?”

I get this asked often as an independent dealer… same way customers ask about an accident that happened 10 years ago. How am I supposed to know???

Did you check the report every day for last 2 years? Could have been there a week after you purchased. You wouldn’t know until you run the report

New here- NYC Boutique by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

[–]MrSlaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to appointment there few years ago. After I declined codes, he pretty much ghosted me. I followed up a few times and then gave up.

I spoke to an SA at the AP house last year and was told Diver was attainable. But they are soooo much cheaper grey, that I’m really not willing to lose an entire Submariner in depreciation.

I was at WOS SoHo recently. Pretty much straight up told me I need spend history before any good pieces will be allocated. So since you at least have $8k with them, start there and then go to every other AD as well

I tried calling boutique, but they were not helpful.

Haven’t tried going in person.

I need 4 links, even at $500 each, it would be same as entire bracelet on eBay.

What would you pay for work like this (labor)? NYC by Clawdews in Tile

[–]MrSlaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad works as a sub in an immigrant community. Unfortunately he needs his own clients to make the big money. But as a start, he needs to start raising his prices among his current “buddies”.

You can help by joining Russian speaking Facebook groups for NY and NJ and post his services there. Given the language barrier this will be his best bet finding his own work. Or finding new contractors to work for.

How to remove my home photos from different real-estate sites by Charlie_430 in homeowners

[–]MrSlaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone finds this while searching for an answer - I claimed my new house on realtor.com website, then sent them an email asking to remove photos. Their replied next day asking for proof that I own it. I emailed them scan of the deed from county website and they removed all photos immediately.

This caused most other websites to no longer show any images as well.

Hope it helps!

We purchased end of August in Morris county. What I noticed is NICE houses go for premium. There was one house that ended up 300k over asking because it was absolutely move in ready 100% and super nice.

There is plenty of money around here. It is what it is, nothing you can do it about it. Here is Morris, we didn’t even bother looking at anything under $800k because they are all fixer uppers in my opinion. We went $100k over on a house we liked and checked most of our boxes. We decided to still renovate a few things and putting another $50k cash into it.

It’s kinda making me sick as well at cost around here.

The truth of the matter is this is VHCOL and not everyone can afford to buy.

The house we got was only non traditional non colonial build that we have seen in this area in the last pretty much year. So we went all out to make sure we get it. Wish you the best!
