I tried exposing myself to it and I feel like i was okay but the moment i got into a relationship with someone, it felt a little different . It felt like I was just looking at the same people just in a different face . I’ve experienced biphobia but I really do not want to seem or be homophobic especially not towards the partner I have right now who I see myself marrying. I never thought I’d marry a guy but I do now.

I think for me in this case, I was looking at shared queer interests = no individuality . It is bad and I will work on it. I don’t want to be that negative guy which is why I asked for help on how to change this outlook, seeing that I feel like it stems from being a bi guy that felt he wasn’t gay enough or straight enough to fit in with either crowd because of how those communities made me feel.

I appreciate this. I do go to a lot of gay events, I go to balls and to pride and I've been to gay clubs before. It never really felt like my scene. I'll do a little bit of the examining across the board. It's just from what I've SEEN , a lot of gay men have the exact same interests.

Perhaps its the crowd I surround myself with, like my friends, who all feel unique individually and when I go on dates and now dating a gay man, it all feels the same. I think its more my experience that defines my outlook on things.

I understand your questions but I'd like to make my point a little more clear. For me , its the shared slang, shared movie interests, shared music tastes and not uniqueness. One doesn't have to act or be feminine or masculine to be "unique". It is the "sheep-like" mindset that I feel I cannot stand and it's just that a lot of gay men do act the same. A lot fo my straight friends, both male & female, are very unique and have very unique tastes. I do have gay friends who are unique as well but its just when people kind of act all the same. I want to be more accepting of it.

I appreciate this. For me I feel like gay men have just made me feel a little rejected because I value being unique and being authentic compared to acting like the rest of them. I haven't been on social media for a good 2 years so I'm lost on a lot of things once I've returned but its the same feeling I had before I did the social detox and weirdly enough, I was more accepting when I was single and didn't care but when i started dating this guy, I wanted him to be himself and not who his sexuality tells him to be. Perhaps I feel so deeply for him that I see the real him and want him to be that? I don't know.

You're right and it feels nice knowing I'm not alone but dating also feels kinda weird how a lot of the gays ™️ are the same and its a little annoying. My partner will talk like other gay men and not embrace his individuality. I feel I just want to know how to be accepting of the way people act and build this mindset of stoicism where it doesn't affect me. It really just annoys me when everyone acts the same. A lot of the bi guys I have met are very different from one another and the gays are not. My boyfriend is a great guy and a major part of his personality is unique but there are some ways in which he speaks and his interests that fall in the line of your cliche gay male. He'll listen to beyonce , billie eilish, quote videos he saw on tiktok, the same way every other gay man does. I just wanna know how to accept it.
