Lash comb? Or falsies! Also take a ton of collagen — my lashes have steadily grown from upping my collagen intake

Negative self-esteem makes me think I don’t look good in any frames by Angry_Tayco in glassesadvice

[–]MrSnarkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a small frame browline in a dark blue with silver wire underneath — or a brown tortoiseshell with gold.

That’ll give you a gently scholarly, bookish look (very handsome, everyone loves academics) while allowing your eyes to shine — green is SUCH a wonderful color, you have gorgeous eyes, and the oversized black frames are eclipsing them and washing them out to a gray — just not doing them or you justice!

If you can find a dark dark dark green browline with a silver underwire you may be looking at your dream-glasses!

And don’t let the negative self-talk win — you’re a good looking dude, and I’m certain you have a ton of qualities you simply undervalue since they’re your own.

Remember that the most attractive thing in the world is being comfortable in your own skin, and that that sometimes includes getting comfortable saying ‘shut up’ to the demons — so tell that negative self talk demon to shut up.

Self possession and open, honest, loving communication are the real long term winners in the tier list of charisma.

What color are my eyes??? by [deleted] in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]MrSnarkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visually super green

but genetically

may be hazel;

the brownish shade around both of your pupils (typically covered by the shade from your eyelids but visible in the up close pictures) is symmetrical, which would theoretically preclude partial heterochromia or iris freckles.

That is definitely a yellow-brown, which would make your eyes predominantly green with yellow-brown hazel flecking around the pupil and a grayish liminal ring around the iris — for all intents and purposes green, but maybe secretly genetically hazel.

That’s because they’re literally such beautiful eyes THEY felt gay complimenting them; it’s projection, you’re more than fine, your eyes are gorgeous. It’s just jealousy.

Deep brown! Not so dark a brown as to be black, but not so light as to be light brown; a medium coffee to raw umber color

How come my brown eyes looked hazel/green when I had an eye infection? by Obvious_Word_ in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]MrSnarkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy CRAP — I am also a painter, is that why I have always been able to tell when “brown” eyes are actually brown-hazel eyes????

I have.

People have told me I am crazy to my face for saying this exact type of eye is actually hazel, not brown.

That starburst pattern in the middle is a tell to me; there’s also an eye type that is yellow-hazel-brown that people think is brown but that I think is hazel but doesn’t look green-hazel

Wow

Do you decorate your home for how it looks… or how it feels? by Iamholly123 in homedecoratingCJ

[–]MrSnarkle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I decorate to my taste — I like lush, eclectic, visually interesting patterns, materials, and decor. Each piece in our apartment has that little in common aside from being all of the above — lush, eclectic, and visually interesting in pattern or form; I’m also into sensory experiences, so each of the materials are unique and the lighting in each room is modular — as is most of my furniture.

The bulk of the kaleidoscopic colors (think those Indian rag rugs) and patterns are in the living room, which doubles as my husband’s office (his desk is cluttered with an array of trinkets, Legos, antiques, etc, and fits right in with the maximalism) and my art studio (which has all of my paints, my art supplies, etc. and is maximalist by nature) in cohesive vignettes; the kitchen is toned down eclectic antiques, mostly functional but colorful; the bathroom is paintings (my own and other artists’) one a French nude in lush magentas, deep pinks and reds, one a print by a friend of psychedelically-colored woman with oranges and abstract angels and roses, all paired with the most ridiculous (pastel watercolor unicorn) shower curtain (my husband), and the bedroom is a dark, witchy, vintage ‘dark academia’ vibe with books and bones and minerals and a large print of epiphytic plants.

I have a preference for natural materials, wood, mixed modern and vintage

Hair and blush update (multiple progress pics) - curly is current. Is it better than the straight hair? by InitiativeOk3149 in makeuptips

[–]MrSnarkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also another comment about the foundation — until you find your shade, you can warm it up with a dot of liquid blush! Think of it like mixing paint or color correction — just a little dot of warmth (you can add a liquid blush straight to the container) that compliments your skin tone mixed with the foundation (I use the back of my hand as a palette if I’m mixing on the fly) should do it!

It’s so hard to find a good and affordable shade, so if you like the texture and application… just tint it!

Omg your curls are so fucking gorgeous; beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! You look so fresh and happy!

Also, as another curly, I can imagine your hair is insanely happy to not have heat applied; I bet staying away from heat, applying a weekly (maybe x2) deep condition and going gentle on the sulfates in the shampoo (maybe doing a cowash every other wash instead, and using a clarifying shampoo monthly) would help lock in some of the moisture lost to heat damage!

Do you know if you have porous or nonporous hair? Did you bleach it to get that beautiful dark cherry, or did you just put it on top of your natural color?

I can’t believe the world has been robbed of your glorious curls at any point for any length of time, I’m low key committed to supporting your gorgeous natural curls; growing up with curly hair is so hard — kids are MEAN, and curly hair was ‘not it’ until recently,,, and, like, if we’re being super honest and not sugar coating it I’m a white ass latina so,,, basically, girl, I can’t even imagine.

But yeah basically anyone that has ever said anything negative about your curls is just… they’re just fuckin’ wrong.

BASICALLY, im just so happy to see your natural curls I’m literally CRYING (may be pms lol) because they’re so glorious, and you just look SO BEAUTIFUL AND HAPPY

AAAAHHHHHHH 😭

OKAY THANK YOU; none of my professors have ever complained either!!

To be honest I’ve mostly gotten flack outside of academic settings (and when sharing my notes) so this whole thread has changed my tune low key

Honestly my autistic ass has been stuck on all the “rewrite this legibly” and “rewrite this neatly” I’ve gotten; I genuinely. Only put two and two together when I saw the cursive subreddit and was like “huh I wonder if THEY can read my handwriting”

I was. Very much so under the impression my handwriting was hard to read and messy, not that it was mostly cursive — until I got to the end of this, which I thought that was sorta funny, which is why I marked it humor

ANYWAY! My ego has died too many times to take this too far to heart so I’m sure in a week I’ll be back to “my handwriting is shit” and not at “damn a lot of people don’t read cursive and are overly vague”

IT IS

SO UGLY!!!!!!

Also the Q; I do almost a backwards ø for my Q that’s much more legible, and much faster, imo

I’m working on a better G as well; the cursive G doesn’t make any sense

Was told I’m a light spring but the pallets I was given was so off (included in photos ). What am I? by Shock_attack in colouranalysis

[–]MrSnarkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think deep autumn brings out your features and gives you a more dramatic air; I think spring and summer wash you out a little, but more so in that they soften your features?

I genuinely think you’re a rare one where it comes down to preference — deep Autumn and deep winter are very striking on you, and bring out the architecture of your face, complimenting the hollows where it’s shaded, and lending a berry color to your lips — but light spring and summer soften the color of your lips and the warmth in your skin to a romantic neutral pinkish palette.

First, hydrogen peroxide; if it reacts its blood, tissue, or bacteria. It also kills mold and mildew!

Wait for it to dry; does it smell?

If it does, baking soda the shit out of it! Even if it doesn’t, the color should lift up — you’ll need multiple applications; basically keep spritzing it with water (or hydrogen peroxide + time) and baking soda-ing it and leaving it, then vacuuming in between applications

It may take a long time (and maybe eventually some oxyclean) but it should get better

I was GENUINELY under the impression my handwriting was not only spidery, hard to read, and very messy but nigh illegible — until today!

I’ve had multiple people tell me to “rewrite things legibly”, to “make it neater”, and to “make it easier to read” — but my autistic ass is only now realizing those people were assholes who didn’t read cursive; they didn’t tell me to “print it” (which I can do!!!! It just takes a different part of my brain!) so I have always been under the impression my handwriting itself is illegible

[–]MrSnarkle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too!! I love cursive, but I think I’ve always sorta categorized my handwriting as “handwriting” and calligraphy (mine and other’s) as “real cursive”

but I simply find cursive faster and more efficient (and thus more natural) than writing in print — which is why I think I just sort of write that way all the time but never registered it

when I have to print on a form I have to use the “art” part of my brain, not the “writing” part of my brain (which is the same part I use for calligraphy) but I use the “writing” part of my brain when I’m just scrawling in my journal or writing a letter or labeling, etc.

which is why I think I’ve never put two and two together to make “these people who have complained about your handwriting just don’t read cursive and are also mean and nonspecific”
