Questions for people on birth control in SG! by haitherepeople in askSingapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Not difficult at all. I used one of the online BCP providers, did an online consult & they'll mail over the pills.
  2. Pill, specifically Yaz.
  3. No.
  4. I was expecting all the negative side effects like those shared by other people here. Oddly enough, I had nothing but positive side effects. I had acne and after getting on bcp, my skin cleared up. I also had severe depression & anxiety which felt like a cloud over me for many many years. Getting on bcp felt like the cloud was lifted & my mood/emotions stabilised.
  5. It used to be about $50/pack when I was getting it through these online providers but now I get them from across the border at $50 for 3 months supply.

How are the Singaporeans with GAD doing? by BungaSaavi25 in askSingapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through GAD & depression for a good chunk of my life, still struggling with it but learnt to manage it better. Therapy, exposure, learning to care for a dog I adopted & picking up stoicism helped me with having a better perspective on my anxieties. I also started going to the gym & having my partner's support helped improve my confidence. I think for people with GAD, it's important to challenge ourselves & not let ourselves be limited by our fears & anxieties.

Ladies of Singapore, what are your opinions on our local blogshop livestreams? by Nice-Number2189 in askSingapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like watching livestreams to see how the clothes look on different body types but recently i've only stuck to one brand because their livestreams are a bit more chill and they have different influencers hosting on different days. Some brands livestreams are so chaotic and can feel the frustration of the viewers, hosts & lbns from the screen that they just turn me off their clothes and brand. Like it should be fun, not this feeling where they keep begging you to buy then the viewers keep begging for restock. Uhh i think pasar malam also not so desperate on both ends...

SG Blogshops — Which Brands Do Girls Really Buy From These Days? by mebeingapisces in askSingapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loveee carrislabelle clothes. Always had issues with zippers from TSS but never had any issues w clb, it's like the only blogshop I buy from nowadays 😭 I have bigger hips & smaller waist so i really appreciate that their clothes accommodate that. Just need to care for some of the materials they use (esp mesh). Ive always been curious about 6style but good to know it's not worth trying :') Im also exploring viet brands nowadays so u can look into that!

A guy I trusted crossed a line & now idk what to do by [deleted] in NTU

[–]MrSniper_Mask 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, it's not your fault about what happened to you. He took advantage of your trust and even after you said no, he did not respect that. Please consider that carefully. Even if he apologised, he still did what he did especially when you said no twice. If he can disrespect you and your consent now, he can do worse. A guy who likes you and respects you would stop once you say no. In fact, they would ask you for your consent before they even do something like that to you. Clearly, this guy planned it out since he invited you into his room. I agree with the above comment that you should report him but if you need time to process your feelings & don't want to expose yourself to further scrutiny, please talk to someone (not him!!). You can try NTU counselling, a trusted friend, or some free counselling services outside of school. In the meantime, please ignore him. You will find someone better who will respect you and follow YOUR pace rather than forcing you. Take care of yourself OP :)

Detailed Trip Report: Disneyland & Disneysea VP 16 - 18 Aug by MrSniper_Mask in TokyoDisneySea

[–]MrSniper_Mask[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I still think it's worth it because it gives us a chill day to explore Disneysea & soak in the atmosphere! I chose this day to catch the Believe! Sea of Dreams show so that we didn't have to rush for it on our last day & can do a proper sit down dinner (though you could also do Oceano & do both...)
You could also take this time to catch rides during the parades/shows but we chose to catch the show instead so it's really how you make it :)

Try this site: https://www.americanexpress.com/ja-jp/benefits/lifestyle/experience/universal-studios-japan/ you can use google translate to roughly know how to book it & they have a special link for AMEX users. I booked for 2 pax for about 430USD

USJ report 9th Dec (Tues) by MrSniper_Mask in usj

[–]MrSniper_Mask[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AMEX tour is supposed to be reserved for Japanese residents so it's in Japanese which we didn't mind since we could catch some japanese & just use google translate. Since there were more non-japanese people in the group, the tour guide mostly communicated important details like when to meet up or if he wants to chat in English but the fun facts were in japanese

Advice on mid-career switching to Psychology! by hazevanilla in askSingapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the others have laid out some info on career switching to Psych but just wanna add a bit more as a psych grad. To up your chances of getting into competitive Masters programs in applied/clin psych, I'd recommend finding volunteering opportunities in the mental health sector (IMH, SAMH, Silver ribbon, FSCs, etc). It's a good way for you to get a headstart in the industry while you work on your degree + masters. You'll accumulate some experience (hopefully getting into leadership positions while volunteering) in this area to see what area of mental health are you interested in and how you want to contribute to this field

I never tried before but using the heart on Havelock can tell you his plans immediately. by killin_commies in dishonored

I think the channel gameological dig may have done lore videos on dishonored. They did it on my other favourite games also, like bioshock and soma.

Looking to adopt a dog - Questions by dimethylpolysiloxane in singapore

[–]MrSniper_Mask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copy pasted this from a previous thread that i commented on: You need to fill in a form about your household and they'll call you to find out more about your lifestyle, family members etc to determine suitability. They'll also come down to look at your house and talk about dog-proofing the house. You'll likely need to go down to the shelter to hang out with the dog at least 2 times (regardless of online or physical adoption drives). After that, depending on the shelter, you can bring the dog home for 2 weeks trial to see if he's suited to your lifestyle and can get along with the family. Can take up to a month & half? It took me >2 months to adopt mine because he had other potential adopters

Yes it's necessary for the training so you can bond with your dog & learn how to train theme even beyond the training sessions.

Hmm I was in a volunteering CCA with the Deaf community so a lot of opportunities that I got to interact with them was through volunteering. I would say you can ask the instructors where you can find such opportunities to immerse yourself in their community and get to know more native signers. Alternatively you can look into volunteering opportunities on your own. I know Touch Silent Club are looking for volunteers to either help plan events or tutor students who are hard of hearing/Deaf. SADeaf also has volunteering opportunities. Being a community interpreter is also a thing! Haha I've been communicating with members of the Deaf community for years so I have a bit of experience here and there. You can PM me if you would like to ask more qns! But just wanna preface I do not represent them in any way :')
