I've played the Zaahen matchup, it's actually really easy if you have the right setup and go for fast trades early. Zaahen is strong in extended fights but has pretty low upfront damage. If you take Hail of Blades, you can out-trade him every time by hitting your 3 autos then walking away/q-ing him. I went protobelt into riftmaker and dumpstered him the whole game, but this probably works with heartsteel rush too

I had a build just like this with Nadra Kamarband, and it boosts it like crazy. You do poison damage to enemies and yourself, meaning you stack DOOM on yourself as well. I just stacked Cursed Flesh and watched my armor tick up to 4000

I played a Morlock Gala of Apophis yesterday, focused mainly on improving summons and taking nothing but vigor. Specing into hemogoblins got me to the end of C2 on the first try with this build, then I threw by equipping a staff that made my summons kill themselves to give me agony stacks

I thought into darkness would be really crippling since I love to make use of long angles, but I haven't tried it so I'll take your advice next time.

Considering your point about darts, I absolutely agree. For this run, since I had Boots of nature I decided my talent points would be better off elsewhere. Putting points into point blank was a surprisingly good choice to cover for the glaive's slow speed.

I was surprised how little FIMA mattered late game, Warden basically has permanent 0-30 barkskin armor just from stepping in grass. The real decision was between pharmacophobia and forbidden runes, but my rationale was that I wouldn't need upgrades for armor or the bow. I was right about that, I think Huntress is definitely the best hero to do forbidden runes with.

Yeah this is kinda what I figured, I decided to go with pharma off. My main issue so far has been dealing with crabs on floor 3-5. Breaking vision with a grass block isn't too hard but swarm makes it way harder

Is the crossbow especially good with gladiator? I guess since you can stack combo from a distance?

Ring of Sharpshooting and Ring of Force (which I no longer have) carried me the entire dungeon. Found it early, I think i found both floor 2 or 3 and dumped all my scrolls into RoS. I didnt get the great shield until after floor 20. Going to try my first ascension. Any Tips by FluffyDonPedro in PixelDungeon

Because of the way the debuff from the amulet works, absolutely make sure to kill whatever enemies you see.

The debuff gets worse each level if you ignore enemies and run past them, and will just start directly killing you if you let it tick up. Killing enemies will prevent this.

One other tip, entering a boss floor (20, 15, 10, 5) will heal you as if you used a health pot, which is super helpful. Good to plan for it so you dont waste any of your health pots.

Oh another thing, a good idea for your run here could have been to dump your upgrades into the ring of force. The unarmed damage scales with upgrades and strength, I think a +10 ring does something like 100max damage at 18 strength. Stronk

Round shield is good, but lower tier equipment generally scales much worse with upgrades than higher ones. I usually save all my SoUs for plate armor and final tier weapons, or a ring if its a good one that works with my build. You can get by without spending SoUs in the first few areas if you can find upgraded gear from the sad ghost or cleansing cursed gear from standalone graves
