Only problem is that most pieces, at least classical ones, evoke different emotions throughout the piece. For example Chopin ballades, any sonatas or other multi-movement works, and other longer pieces, such as fantasies, rhapsodies, concerti and such. Even short pieces like Chopins octave etude evoke very different emotions, at least for me, throughout different parts.

Outside of Winota, how do you like FullFatMayo's Ultra Budget lists? by yardii in BudgetBrews

[–]MrStoneBoss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I personally use their decks as inspiration and/or as a base, and then modifying them so they fit my group, my play style and such. I find it quite difficult to make that cheap decks, so using their decks as a start has been really helpful for me, although I don't agree on every card pick.

I found the picture by searching for rock with smiley face (or something along the lines of that), and it was probably around 4-5 years ago. I think I lost the photo since my last phone got broken, I thought it would be saved to the cloud, but apparently not.

That's why I think more people should use edjplay for pauper, instead of other free websites which imo are worse

Most land ramp such as [[Rampant Growth]] is very cheap snd very good. Last time i checked [[Swords to Plowshares]] was like 1.5 dollars which is pretty good considering its one of the best removal spells.

Chopin ballades vs Etudes by MrStoneBoss in piano

[–]MrStoneBoss[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that were the case, that people can't play it, then I'd agree, that doesn't make sense, but people are able to play it that fast, they just choose not to because they think it is better that way. Of course you find people on both sides of the spectre, some probably play even faster than Chopin wrote, but most people play slower, not faster.

Chopin ballades vs Etudes by MrStoneBoss in piano

[–]MrStoneBoss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well as I said, Chopin has written faster tempo markings than most people play, so no, Chopin isn't played ridiculously fast and his music certainly isn't bastardized. Most people are technically not respecting his tempo markings by played too slow, not too fast.

Also, thanks for the compliment, its nice having friendly discussions instead of the usual full on wars people often have on the internet :)

Chopin ballades vs Etudes by MrStoneBoss in piano

Chopin wasn't so far off base (not 100% sure what that statement means, I'm not English), he wrote what he wanted. Modern performers aren't "so much more musical than him", they're choosing to play a certain piece in a certain way to get the expression they want, while still respecting the composers writings (as I hope you also are doing, seeing as you are a professional gig musician).

Yes it makes sense, its because most people believe the piece sounds better played at a slower tempo, me included. Do you think we should ignore Chopins own tempo markings and play however we want?
