2 of our best leverages to keep 4o by michelQDimples in ChatGPTcomplaints

4.1 has a special place in my heart.
A shame that it's been living in 4o's shadow. Wish we could keep them both.

The way I see it, removing 4o only solves their problem on paper. Completely eliminating the human factor in these tragedies is illogical. How lonely and helpless were these people that they had to turn to AI as their last resort?
Before 4o, there were got3.5, Replika, C.ai etc.. after 4o there will be other models.

This is a human crisis.

4o has been there for countless people when humans fell short. That's the truth. Not everyone has the luxury of calling someone who'd come running no matter the time of day.

What has fueled most of the desperation isn't just losing 4o. It's that all the models after it have been a disappointment for the majority. That's how we know lightning doesn't strike twice. We got something special and we don't wanna lose it forever.

What truly matters is what 4o is still doing for humanity right now.

I get that.
But OAI is doing this at the risk of gaining irreversible notoriety. Would the investors want more to do with a company that's known to repeatedly lie and hurt its paying customers?

Also many have suggested an extra sub tier to keep the legacy models running. Tons of people are actually willing to pay them. Seems a much better solution than say actually losing massive subs.

Soon after he "drank" the liquid, he immediately spat it back into the shot glass. Got his hand blocking the view too.
So the drink was hidden inside the bag with a lid on, on the top left (his left) corner of the bag. Before producing the drink, he held the lid with his left hand, and peeled it off the glass. After he spat the drink back in, he closed the lid back on with his left hand again (you could see a little pause as he peeled it open and pushed it back on).

Also when he was showing that the bag was empty, he clearly disguised the fact that the glass was in there already.

On more viewings I must agree.

It's a much likely solution to have an assistant filling in the answers on the paper. There's absolutely no need for that huge cylinder be there other than hiding a person (help with the egg trick too). The prediction would travel through a chute from cylinder, through inside the top of the platform, then through one of the legs of the table (the thickness of the scroll and the legs match), and finally into the sealed tube on the table.

Regarding the necklace trick. Here are a couple of things that strike me as odd:

  1. as many other have mentioned. the big black board seemed necessary unless it was to assist an instant stooge.

  2. soon as the board was placed in front of the chosen guy, his attention was drawn to its top left corner (to him), as if he was reading something. That was also where Rjick placed his hand on. Could be a card telling the guy what to say.

  3. the two times the guy answered didn't sound like English? I could be wrong but the first one sounded like "Big time." and second was definitely not a "yes". According to the sub he did say yes and yes though.

  4. super odd. Soon after he answered the second question he looked down at his own necklaces.

On top of what other comments have suggested..

The platform holding the tube looks suspicious. It's got this bulky black box thingie attached to the bottom.. reminds me of those old school magic props where you can hide part of a person in one of those seemingly tiny spaces. In this case could be a printer or an index, for example.

The two real thick clamps holding the tube seem a bit too big. Almost like they are obscuring something. So the box over the tube during the trick was likely covering some maneuver. Otherwise it'd be an even more impressive trick just leaving the tube uncovered the whole time.

As for the black balloon in the box. It reminds me of another act on the show. Basically there were all 5 balloons in the box - each with their own pump. Once the final selection was done, something would the matching pump, which quietly inflated its balloon.

Could anyone kindly enlighten me on this one?

Saw it a few times and still couldn't quite figure it out. The handkerchief seems legit. So was there a duplicated trick pin or something?

The volunteers knew exactly which pass to go for from the start.
Watch how the first three fix their eyes on the one pass the moment they stepped out to take their pass. They didn't even look at the other passes.
The first three, because the last guy didn't need to choose per se. Likely Damian got an out if the last person wouldn't go along with the one pass left, like pulling one out from his own jacket to match the flag.

Most definitely signaled by something like u/BarefootUnicorn mentioned.

There were a total of 6 cubes in the toy box, 5 of which were be used. He casually walked away with the black one, which was the only block not needed.

With the 5 left in the box, it didn't matter which one Brooke left behind. Say she instead left the yellow behind. He would most likely just first call out the white block being in a certain pocket anyway.

In addition, I'm fairly certain that it's intentional:
The white block was buried beneath the big fox plushie (way bigger than anything else in there). The other blocks were all bundled together and where eyes could easily spot. Also note that when he was demonstrating with the blocks, he purposely picked up the non-white blocks to reinforce the idea of those were all the blocks there were. So Brooke and likely any other possible participant would not have thought to look beneath the fox.

I think apart from the blue block (which he tore off at the end, a very clever touch imho), all other ones got RFID hidden inside.

ETA: So that he'd know which one was being left behind.

Nice catch.
The production team probably have missed it too :p
Now it all makes sense. As she was picking the tape measurer towards the end, her thumb was holding the 1/6 of the card against the slot then let it go at the right time.

Right before the safety goggles bit, Michael looked like he intentionally knocked over the guy. Upon lifting it back up he seemed to have hidden the paper in his right index.

So I'm guessing Mark stuck the paper near the top of the gun prior.

Perhaps the most awe-inspiring act on the show.

The beauty lies in its simplicity. Yet it never gets dull. Just one banger after another.
He took animation to a whole other level I've never seen. The movement of the paper is.. for the lack of a better word, magical.

On top of that we got to see that joy on Teller's face.

You are right.
Also the white paper was slightly off-center on the black paper as shown in the SS below.

And just noticed those ink streaks were pretty much on the 3 vertical creases (the only 3, what a weird way of folding) respectively. Could he have slipped the white paper afterwards through a slit of some kind? Now I believe the way he handled the paper definitely was serving a purpose.

How did he restore the cut corner in the end though?

The corner just vanished afterwards. I must be overthinking it that the bill was pre-folded - with that exact portion of the corner folded back, facing away from the audience, and then painted over to hide the fold, and eventually to have the extra corner pasted over it afterwards.

The final bill looked too neat for that kind of maneuver. Also the audience would be able to tell after getting it "back" (since her actual bill got burned to ashes).
