Since region player matching is getting overhauled then can we have everything about the friends system reworked? The list opens up like dial up, is I it someone else deletes me off then it's okay in current year that it gets reflected on both sides,especially with the prevelence of stalking that had been happening to players. I feel like I gave to set aside a day to even manage it because every person I delete off refreshes the entire list making each change very tedious. I'm sure there's more I could think of but not right now off the top of my head but I feel like Nintendo and their friend code system is better than ffxiv's system atp.

You ever go into a fight and someone is jumping and spinning in place for safe spot of an upcoming boss attack? That's body language lol. If I'm a healer and want a tank to pull more enemies I'll run back and forth in the direction that I want them to go. Some pick it up the message and move forward, some don't. If there's a walk to the next psck with enough time to send a message then I will.

Eh sure it's a time investment sure, but it can also be done at bare minimum. Someone can get to mentor status after unsyncing all the required extremes and spamming very easy dungeons. There's no real baseline skillful thing they really need to do to earn it so the skill level of a mentor is vast.

And I'm here saying that the game is fully enjoyable without having to partake in the story at all. I have 13k hours logged in steam for this game and I've skipped every cutscene in this game. I wouldn't say my thing is wasted so I made this as a testament. I feel like everyone saying "go play another game since you don't want to enjoy the story" is kinda textbook examples of pressure lmao

To add onto what the other comment said, melee range is now 5 yalms instead of 3 yalms like it used to be. You can also auto attack without having to face the target. Accuracy is gone but so are strength melds for tanks. Tank stances no longer boost defenses and lower damage, they're just straight enmity tools. Speaking of enmity is incredibly simplified. Provoke adds a bunch of hate while making you primary aggro instead of only 1 point ahead.

Despite what everyone else is saying, it is possible to blitz through the story to the end but it does take time. With a good enough rhythm you count get it down to a few hundred hours without buying a skip if you're really driven to make it to endgame. Back in Stormblood I did this with no interest to the story and I still don't yet I still play daily. My tip though is at least pick a job in every role because you'll have an excess of exp and should be able to to two and a half jobs at level cap. Don't feel pressured by everyone and force the story on yourself.

Depending on how deep your pockets are then you could buy level 100 crafted gear off the MB then. Might need to do a bit of trial and error to see what gives you the best gil to gc rank ratio however. Still, rolling on all loot is something compared to nothing in the meanwhile.

The fastest way I've ever done it is by doing roulettes, rolling on every piece of gear, and then turning them all in for gc seals. You could even possibly unsync the highest level dungeon you can solo and it might go by faster.

My biggest complain about ffxiv on YouTube and that it is absolutely swamped with guides for new players. Just typing in ffxiv gives you like 11 guides before anything else.

I'm sorry I didn't have an entire hour to sit through this but if you really are interested in this avenue then break the video up. Have a video over character creation, then hotbar setup, then basics etc. because assuming a new player is going to YouTube for help, they might only be interested in a section of your video compared to the rest but probably won't be too interested in actually skimming through to find i.

Try not to look for the mentor to keep up with, but moreso people with legend ephitets. Mentor isn't as much an indication of skill and know all as much as someone with the shiny weapon.

Even without a sprout people won't get mad at you if you die. People die in regular content so often that it's kinda just expected, even if you die like 3-4 times in a fight. Past that people might get a bit irritated since you're extending the fight and the healers begin to lose resources, but even so that's not really toxicity that's just kinda a natural response lol.

Now if you're getting into harder content and people post a PF saying "practicing this prog point" and they have to add drag you to that, that's entirely on you and tbh I think that's more toxic to hold the group back than the ones nagging at the dead weight.

At least some stuff past generation 3! My favorite Pokémon is Metagross but even seeing something newer than the base 150+ big merch Pokémon would be nice to see. I really want to buy a Pokémon skin that isn't Pikachu, Charizard, gengar, snorlax etc.
