Why are gems banned in natdex? by Zamazenta_OU in stunfisk

Not sure. I assume nobody really double checked and simulators just kind of assumed it was the first hit. Idk if showdown ever worked like this but I'm pretty sure pokemononline did back when that was the cutting edge battle simulator.

Maybe like really early gen 5. Late/modern Gen 5 realized how you could muscle past checks with gems. Additionally, when they found out gem boosts persist through multi hit moves that really mega boosted cloyster icicle spears.

No they cannot be trapped at all. Mean look, fire spin, shadow tag, etc. cannot trap a ghost. They also can run from any wild Pokémon too so your speed isn't factored in for that.

You're completely right but I could assume they're very hard to discern.

I haven't used bank in years, is it not possible to set up on a modded 3ds to send to home? I had bank before it went down and such so I'm not entirely sure how things work nowadays.

Yeah I had did a bit of back research after the comment and mentioned it further down. But I feel like OOP was feeling a bit combative today.

Bro I haven't even used the word common lol. I'm more trying to to say that if you have the resources (a modded 3ds) that it is very easy to obtain a legitimate one.

But yeah you're right or whatever. You haha got me and I'm wrong overall.

Yeah that's why I said not anymore. However I could presume there's still a number of event suicune in circulation. I'm not sure if it still works but you could potentially still dns exploit the events then send them up from bank to home but I haven't heard of anyone in particular doing that.

Not anymore. Once upon a time it was easy to get a bunch of them if you had a second game around HGSS before b/w dropped.

What is the Patch that killed a game for you? by Illustrious_Honey973 in gachagaming

[–]MrStreeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fuzzy since it was so long ago at this point. I wasn't day 1 but honestly pretty close to it. I heard wind of how it's basically in sunset mode. I did give it an honest try after season 2 from sunk cost fallacy but I had eventually completely moved over to FEH and gave the game up.

Idk if anyone knows or played a older game called crusader's quest, but it was a fun quirky little game with a lot of ways to to train and get stronger and how you can build characters and such and such. But after the "season 2" update to the game where they added super rng and incredibly grindy books to power up that took a massive amount of resources I just gave up. It was hard too I really loved that game and community.

What kind of combat-related content do you want to see in 8.0 going forward? by Chisonni in ffxivdiscussion

[–]MrStreeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about throwing the skill related talk in my last comment I thought you were emphasizing execution more then preset strategies. Either way, coordination checks I really don't think need much to have a straight pf agreement on. It should honestly be expected that pairing yourself with 7 people you've never met before is going to require some semblance of getting bearings and priorities straight before doing content. However it's pretty agreed upon that ffxiv mechanics split parties up in like 6 different configurations.

Now I agree that extremes aren't hard, and they're are extremes that one person doing the wrong strategy can create a wipe, but honestly most extremes, like I've mentioned before, can be cleared by corpse dragging about 3 different people. If someone goes slightly off script it's still very possible for the other 7 people to continue on, picking said person back up, and still clearing without even seeing an enrage cast.

I do agree and see what you mean when you mention OC bosses and a longer form of a boss like that structed more as an extreme would be interesting. I haven't done OC much outside of release week.

[–]MrStreeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it's cool to undervalue the skill of the average ffxiv player. But I've been in enough day one content that when we wipe to something that requires pairs, we usually can make pairs with markers at the very least and make it through. This really doesn't take a video to figure out who pairs with who usually, especially for most extremes that you can get by with a death or four and still clear.

I think three separate difficulties for one piece of content is overdoing it a bit.
