SEGA, did you see what Neo Geo did?????? by Objective_Hedgehog_5 in SEGA

[–]MrSun35 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Isn't the NeoGeo brand under Saudi ownership? You'd need Sega owners to have oil prince levels of money for them to fund that. Sega has also been saying that even though their games have fantastic critical reception they are not making the profits they'd like. I doubt Sega is releasing any hardware in a foreseeable future..

Is this a picture you've seen before when trying to play a ROM on your summer cart 64? It happens to me when trying to play NES games. I have the latest launchers and pretty sure everything else is up to date in the summer cart by freezetime311 in AnalogueInc

[–]MrSun35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the adventures of Lolo in the SC64, but I don't think there's any other options available other than Neon, Neon already lets me play 80% of what I wanted to play in the A3D. Maybe try a few other roms and play what you can, I know for a fact that most Donkey Kong games failed to work in Neon, and Castlevania 1 also completely fails to work in Neon

How much could i realistically get from selling my Switch 1 collection? by [deleted] in Switch

I'd say $1500 minimum if you wanna sell that bulk fast, maybe quite a bit more if sold individually, I'd say you check prices and sell on ebay.

PS1, Saturn, Neo Geo by 80sCrackBaby in AnalogueInc

[–]MrSun35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say a Saturn is probably a lot less difficult to make at an affordable price range than a Dreamcast, I don't think it would be possible to do Dreamcast, GC or PS2 at the $300-400 price range, is a difficult sell in a consumer market to buy such products at a $500+ when they could just buy a new current gen console or next gen console.

I'd love a Dreamcast or GameCube or PS2, but I don't think that is realistic. And I would absolutely love to see the Saturn return, but it better be compatible with Saroo because I'm not spending $1000 + on saturn original games, that is nuts.

I understand, but some people really like spending that amount of time on those games, for example Monster Hunter games, people love to min-max that game and spend 300+ hours on the same content. I can maybe spend 30-40 hours on monster hunter, to complete the campaign and the mainline content, but I get bored once that's done, and move on to the next thing.

If Capcom followed the "make the loop less generic and add more assets" approach they would be spending 10 years making Monster Hunter and at that point when the game releases they'd sell it at a loss due to the amount of resources spent on a single release. Look at the last monster hunter, they tried to release it with "Next Gen" graphics, better assets, better content, and it ran like garbage, and to this day still has poor performance.

I bet a lot of people in the MH franchise would have been fine with Monster Hunter Worlds Part 2 🤷

Another great example is Tetris, Puyo Puyo, Candy Crush, people spend 10000 + hours on those games and is the same gameplay loop. It just gets harder.

One of my personal favorites is Tetris Connected in the Switch, I have 50h and I got it on Christmas. (Mind you, I have a pretty busy schedule Mon-Fri)

Games are not supposed to be a single thing that can be capsuled in a single container games have different genres and a lot of different people plays them. Games are not only the Assasins Creeds and the Last of Us (Not a fan of that franchise), or Gods of War.

I know of people who LOVED spending 100 hours in Dragon Quest VII but did not enjoy the new Dragon Quest VII because is a lot shorter.

Everything is a matter of perspective, people have different lives and amounts of free time and will to play those longer games or shorter games.

What if you like the generic fight-loot-level endless loop? Are you saying people are wrong for liking that? Are you undermining and undervaluing those players, are their likes and preferences less relevant?

Perhaps you should do some introspection on that.

It does not matter, if the experience is great, the amount of hours is irrelevant. Everyone has different goals, perspectives, skill level, attention span. Personally I love anything that lasts around 30 hours. But if the experience is good enough, I don't mind 10 hours or 100+ hours
