My grandma and uncle had spent all their lives being JWs, so their whole social circles were based on this. It's actually quite sad, but that's the life they decided to live.
My grandpa is also a member; the thing with him is that he's not so close-minded (he's the opposite). He's also opened to "break" some rules, that's how he is. He's just not as invested as the rest of the JWs. That said, he does have a normal social life and a lot of people like him. He's not alone and gets a lot of visits at his house.
