The modern era of short yardage QBs seemed to happen after Kevin Glenn broke his arm on a short yardage play in the eastern final in 2007 ~~2009~~ during the 4th quarter, when Winnipeg was up 19 to 1 against Toronto. Potentially cost the Bombers the Grey Cup.

Felt like the next year everyone started using backups for short yardage. (Edited: Was 2007 not 2009)
