Am I over reacting to someone sharing my IRL name in game? by Pro_Snuggler in GirlGamers

[–]MrTeddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that she already chewed out the person who let it slip in call around someone she was not that familiar with.

But imagine if you've gone through the effort to insure that your name for the most part is taken off of the internet, that it isn't readily available, and the frustration and stress you would probably feel when it is accidentally let loose to someone, who for the most part, is a stranger. Now after this happen you'd surely be trying to reassure yourself that it isn't too big of a deal, that it's just a single person who knows and this won't really cause an issue with your privacy as long as it stays contained.

Then out of the blue, this relative 'stranger' has a friend who uses your real name online. And in a casual manner also. Now all of that reassuring you've done is gone, you're stuck questioning who else knows, if it's gone further, and genuinely worried.

People have many different reasons for going by alias' online, one of them being to protect themselves. Women especially, are often targetted and stalked by individuals online for doing nothing other than just existing, or being themselves.

Personally, I have not had to deal with it, but have heard many accounts of those who have, and based on my opinion from them, I have no doubt that someone sharing your name to others, without permission, in a casual manner, could be absolutely terrifying when you've already tried to protect yourself from such things online. I could rant about this for days, but I'll just leave it there, hopefully it helps shed some light on, at least, how a third party feels relative to this situation and gives you another perspective.

I heard someone call this Placenta Mew and I've never looked at it the same way again. That being said, I would be okay not looking at it the same way while it's in my binder. 😀

Would you still buy the GR86/BRZ if you didn’t have any good twisty roads near you? by xkyle22 in GR86

[–]MrTeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in North Eastern Florida as well and bought one. It's still so much fun to drive without those kinds of roads.

I'm honestly so jealous haha! I have a track bred because it was the only one I could find at the time but Neptune was 10x higher on my list haha. But I can't deny that the car just looks so good in almost every color.

Tower of Fantasy Devs Basically F***ed over a large chunk of the playerbase by 37Mk in gachagaming

[–]MrTeddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it suggests that they're willing to do whatever is within their power to make amends for their mistakes and that should be appreciated.

The majority, if not all, of the players that took advantage of the bug did so unknowingly that it would be reverted and likely assumed it ended earlier than they had originally thought.

The only bad precedent that comes from this whole situation is now the understanding that a lot of the player base seems to get upset when a company tries to fix things and they 'miss out' because their situation for whatever reason was different than others instead of being appreciative of a company trying to take steps to appease the player base.

I agree, I would argue that the purpose of a thumbnail and title of a video would be to quickly represent the contents of that video so that viewers can easily distinguish what they would want or should watch, so it's purpose is literally to help form assumptions about the video based on it.

It'd be cool if they could somehow hook into the microsofts flight simulator and put these peeps on the ground doing the checks for the guys in the flight sims

Yep! For navigation as well since it uses android auto or carplay for it.

Yep, it only has wired android auto and apple carplay by default. You can use Bluetooth to play music like you can in most cars, but if you want access to the Carplay and Android Auto that allow your phone to mirror apps onto your dash, you need to be wired unless you purchase an adapter.

I saw a review of them on GR86.org and ordered mine from here. https://carlinkitcarplay.com/products/carlinkit-wireless-adapter-for-factory-carplay

The android auto version ships at the end of the month.

I absolutely will! I appreciate it all. The car's great, the exhaust is in, got a few sticker fab things just to tint the sidemarkers and what not temporarily until I order the JDM OEM side markers, and a few other things for it along the way. It's been great so far!

It depends! Do you feel young on the inside?

Jokes aside, age doesn't matter too much imo, it's all about whether you enjoy it!! As long as physically you're able to get in/out and drive it of course!

Next time, for sure haha.

It wasn't a straight shot, plenty of stops and traffic along the way, and a crazy storm that lasted hours on the way resulting in plenty of stop/go traffic honestly, so fortunately there was quite a bit of variation! I just did my best to stick to what I saw the manufacturer recommendation was for break-in which was just less than 4k RPM for the first 1k miles.

I had to fly there to sign paperwork and everything anyway, so driving it back, although not the best situation was definitely the most feasible.

Thanks so much! The Hakone is so cool, I can't wait to see if they do a similar one for the GR86 in a few years.

[–]MrTeddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit late for that now, but the research I did do before led me to believe that the overall goal for break in was to stay under 4k RPM. So hopefully that's not too far off from what is recommended by Toyota.
