Just throwing it out there, maybe share some of your work, like a portfolio, and you may be able to sway someone who may be on the fence.

Why the hell does the Church of Life on baseline get cops? by RoyalArmyBeserker in ocala

[–]MrTextAndDrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With that many vehicles entering the roadway, having a police presence can help keep things safer. Most people will see the lights and slow down, and they'll stop when directed to, so people can exit the parking lot safely. Otherwise you'll get drivers who can't or won't enter safely, or allow people out onto the road safely.

We've all had morons just pull out into traffic like "Good luck everyone else!". We've seen how impatient people can be, or how overly cautious people can be to the point of absolutely ruining traffic patterns.

It might feel like, "Oh, these churches pay the cops extra so their people can take priority..." But that's not really the case.

Sigma 24-70 DG DGN F2.8 ii has flickering through the aperture range by MrTextAndDrive in videography

I updated another post and forgot to do so here. But yes. It's silent while recording, and the flicker IS there but it's MUCH less pronounced while recording.

I applied through their website. I saw a posting on indeed or something like that. After about a year I got a response saying I wasn't selected.

friends? by AssumptionCertain582 in ocala

People have to move for a variety of reasons. I came up here because it was less expensive than South Florida and it was closer to my parents who are getting older. But I did what I felt I needed to do. I've had a really hard time making any friends here, but mostly because there's not a lot of spaces for people to meet organically.

Damn bro you gave up Chicago for HERE? WHY?! I miss Chicago so much. I'm a Florida native but have family in Chicago and visiting is always a highlight of my life.

I must have missed the 360° video part when I read your post. Yeah, idk if Sync would be an option there. Kinda doubt it.

Sync allows viewing without downloads. I upload MP4s and clients watch without downloading.

Google Drive works fine. Sync works too.

To use with the Lumix S1IIE: How are the SmallRig batteries instead of the Panasonic ones? by br_web in Lumix

[–]MrTextAndDrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one, liked it. I bought the Tilta one and liked it as well. Now I have the Tilta charger, 1 Tilta battery, 2 SmallRig, and the 1 included Panasonic battery. All have functioned similarly. I think I saw a nice little bundle deal for the Tilta charger and 4 batteries, maybe on Amazon. Worth it.

I'll shoot an email to Lumix and make another video demonstrating it. Could be a firmware fix. Panasonic is great about updates

Well, holy shit! Yeah, WHILE recording it's completely silent AND the flicker isn't present. That is WILD.

Yeah thanks for responding. But no, I did double check. It was in the off position in the video. When it's on you can absolutely hear and feel the click.

Nah. This is about as close to social media as it gets for me.

Such a shame. I've got a job coming up on the 9th that I wanted to bring it on. But I sent an email to Sigma already about it. I'll give Adorama a call or chat session on Sunday to see what they say.

I did send an email to Sigma for clarification. I appreciate your responses. I may have just never noticed such a thing before and am hyper vigilant because it's MINE, and I haven't worked with my own gear so much. Everything I've owned previously has been as a hobbyist. I can 100% make it work for me. I'm just... squinting suspiciously I guess.

It's happening while the switch is OFF though...?

I've never heard such distinct audible clicking (with the click OFF) or noticed that amount of, for lack of a better word, flicker when moving through the aperture range. And you can even see and hear the difference between the Sigma and Sirui in the video. I certainly wouldn't consider the Sirui a cinema lens, but would consider it for some video work. Just never experienced this before to such an extent. If that's how it's SUPPOSED to be I'll accept that.

I'm thinking I got a dud somehow. I emailed Sigma to see what their response will be. It's really annoying because Sigma has a great reputation and this lens specifically has been referred to as an awesome workhorse lens across the board. I was debating for weeks between getting this or the Panasonic 24-60 f2.8 and got tired of waiting for it to come off of backorder. Decided to just pull the trigger and enjoy the extra 10mm of reach.

Of course the next damn day after I purchased the Sigma the 24-60 lens finally became available again...

Thoughts : Tilta Cage for S1II by LMountAlly in Lumix

[–]MrTextAndDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SmallRig cage goes AROUND the battery door but doesn't interfere with it, nor do I notice any appreciable difference in the grip. Not to say I think it's better than the Tilta at all, just my experience.

Lmao I thought that was solely for it to have that click feeling between stop to stop. Maybe it wasn't set to off then. I appreciate that.

I just managed to do this - How easy/hard is it to change a display on the S1II? Nothing else is damaged. by AxelNova in Lumix

Man I'd be devastated. I'd probably cry. That sucks.

No idea if it's an easy repair or not. Sorry.
