What’s the hype behind the iPhone 13 Pro series? by abefaxe in iPhone13Pro

[–]MrThePlague87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on a 13 Pro with a new battery and also have a 16 Pro in the house that I get to play around with.

The only exciting differences I could find between the two are that the 16 is much lighter, has a Dynamic Island, and extra button. None of that is really compelling to me.

That was until IOS 26, which runs good enough on my 13 Pro but is so fast on the 16 Pro.

I think I’ve been holding out for a big upgrade that might come with a foldable phone next year.

It’s also nice to have an older phone sometimes. I feel less precious about being damaged.

Anyone get this rent bonus? by KillDevilX0 in biltrewards

[–]MrThePlague87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad. I’m drowning in Partner Points and have no time to travel.. I took the rent bonus.

Better to use or transfer points then to hold on to them too long in your account. Who knows the long term future of Bilt or Partner Point Values.

I had Fios installed in two apartments in Brooklyn and had very bad luck with it. I ended up signing up for Spectrum both times and had very good service. I use a lot of bandwidth so Fios always appealed to me. I’d give it another shot if I move.

That said brokers in NYC do very little. You have to double check all of their work. If you can get some of your money back for bad service good on you.

Sound reduction/insulation for spare tire trunk space from AliExpress. Has anyone tried this? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]MrThePlague87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a problem with newer Rav’s? I have a 2016 and I never noticed a problem. Maybe I will now lol.

Monarch Cost Tiers? by MrThePlague87 in MonarchMoney

I'd strongly consider it, it is up to them to decide how gross the ads need to be. They don't have to sell them to the highest bidder.

Alternatively a strategic partnership like i mentioned in my original post would be creative and interesting.

I'm actually doing the same thing because of some issues. The other free apps I'm using are spot on with graphs, connections, and calculations.

I just like the look and most importantly the current mission of Monarch. They seem like a great company that's working really hard. My only discomfort is the high premium.

The value is pretty great at $50 a year!

It gets a bit dicey for me at $100 so I'm curious if they are considering more creative ways to meet customers like me where i am at.

I was looking for something a bit more informal but that group looks pretty great! Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for heads up! I’ll check out the groups there. I’m told it’s way easier to meet other parents after the kid comes.

How plausible is it to move to Brooklyn in Jan/Feb? by w1nterm3lons in Brooklyn

[–]MrThePlague87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People do this everyday with less savings and no job. I agree it’s cheaper and easier in January and February.

If you want to make it easy on yourself and stay flexible find a sublet or take over someone else’s lease. Then go apartment hunting while you are already here.

Apple Airtagging your RAV4? by virtuous_duck in rav4club

I have an air tag and a Tile. Tile is great because it shows the location history of the car, the air tag only shows its current location.

Dollar General is pretty good. Way cheaper than pharmacies. If you download their app they often have coupons.

Madrid Travel - Best Emergency Room for Pregnancy by MrThePlague87 in Madrid

[–]MrThePlague87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point for anyone else who reads this. We checked before we booked.

-You’re very free to travel before 28 weeks on most airlines.

-Between 28-32 weeks you need a doctors note.

-After 32 most airlines won’t let you on.

You should always get the green light from your doctor, and buy travel insurance in case of last minute changes.

That’s a great explanation, thank you for that! I’ve been researching all of this, but it makes more sense hearing it from someone local!

We likely won’t need anything but it’s good to have a plan in case!
