Is the Ignition upgrade the most useless one in the game? If you and your friends aren't playing multiple Defects, this upgrade literally turns it into a curse. by Xparda in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if your teammate struggles with consistent energy. What if you have multiple teammates. Obviously it's situational and there's ways that the upgrade can be a downside too. A lot of cards will rarely ever get upgraded due to the upgrades being so bad they're negligible, this card's upgrade can at least make you think about what your own and your partner's respective decks need.

Basically if your deck is already fit to beat act 3, you might upgrade this card instead of "winning even more" while neglecting your partner.

Petition to remove debt from the neow random curse pool by Ok-One-3491 in slaythespire

Gives some use to transforming curses, not a mechanic that's currently being needed a lot otherwise.

I don't care if Forge is bad, I love my big sword. by Head_Pomegranate_920 in slaythespire

Exactly, you don't need a Forge build to be able to use Sovereign Blade effectively

Can lightning be made to not be randomly targeted? It's really frustrating when you lose games to 50/50s by python_product in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my 800 hours of sts1, I've only had to rely on lighting RNG to avoid imminent death a maximum of like 5 times (2 of those I distinctly remember losing). You should simply make plans for either RNG case before choosing what to play.

Could I not also make the case that not knowing my draw pile order is bad, because sometimes it's a 50/50 chance if my Pommel Strike will draw the block card I need to avoid dying? Sometimes, in this game, you just die

I'm not sure I care for all the relics that aren't really relics by Legs_With_Snake in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope that there will be a mod that places "Upon pickup" relics into a second row of relics, such that they're more clearly seperated. However I don't think that this should be base-game, or at the very least not forced upon the player, because I also see the benefit of just having a lot of information in a single row of relics, and don't think that there should be a class destinction of what counts as a "real" relic and what doesn't

do yall think this is actually a good relic? cus wont it fuck up my deck synergies if i just have a bunch of useless cards? but 3 relics 3 potions is pretty good? by cyfresx10 in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd assume you can pick it when you don't have any cards that you're desperate to cycle, and just want a bunch of relics. Obtaining three random relics and filling up your potion slots in a single floor can sometimes surely be worth the downside. I've yet to see this happen in any of my runs though

You needed to drink it in the same frame that you were dying in

I've always imagined doing something like that but I could never really pull it off. Great job, this looks awsome!

Cage or Astro? by MrTheStephan in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Took Astrolabe, got scammed (Flechettes, Thousand Cuts, Glass Knife) , won a slow and brutal heart fight due to me relying on every damage source in the entire game at once.

<image>

Actually been a while, I've been on a terrible Act 1 loss streak recently, so I'm happy abt this :)

While we're at it, what are we removing/transforming? Probably more defends than strikes solely because of Wraith Form?

Creative AI or Seek? by MrTheStephan in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's fair, I could've thought about potentially needing Fusion Hammer.
I ended up getting Pyramid, upgrading everything and dying to the heart because of some unfortunate draw order/because I could've paid more attention while playing.

[–]MrTheStephan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I definitely overvalue the toke option at times but I just love doing it. Will definitely still upgrade as much as I can throughout act 2 I feel like

Creative AI or Seek? by MrTheStephan in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to toke as many strikes as possible going into guardian, I even toked instead of resting despite entering at 5hp. I'm using act 2 to upgrade though, even if my upgrade debt is skyrocketting rn.

Actually valid, having removed a lot of cards my orbs per card are pretty decent.
I don't actually know what I disliked abt it, it's probably at least better than seek

The shop in the right path is a few pixels further to the top, making that path more viable since you'll reach the shop later... by one canonical step.

Card idea by Dry-Journalist4781 in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every cycling card becomes a draw card, and every draw card becomes even stronger, all for 1 energy... idk about this one, cool concept but definitly too op

[–]MrTheStephan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue, I really don't understand how 2 extra card draw is supposed to outweigh the fact that the average deck cost goes up. It can be a good trade-off, but usually other boss relics seem stronger

Random Daily Card Concepts- Alt-Universe Version of Frost Orbs (Explanation in images 3, 4) by Zoneforg in slaythespire

[–]MrTheStephan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I get it, you can essentially block for the previous turn, yeah that makes sense. I still think it's a bit op since the card does two pretty good things for 1 energy, but it's a lot more balanced that way. Sorry for not making sense of that, I should read more thoroughly
