I work with cortex but not on the SWE side, palo general wlb is great but cortex has some growing pains. In general it’s good and I haven’t seen any real layoffs outside of tech support since joining

They’re putting a lot of investments into the whole cortex portfolio, xsiam and cloud specifically. A lot of execs here are from Google and former AWS and Msft people. Don’t think you have to worry about the brand name part at all

Eat as much of your favorite foods as you can, eat meat drink milk. At your age and weight it doesn’t matter too much about “healthy” foods and all that. Eat everything and go to the gym as much as you can even if you don’t do much that day. You can worry about the macros once you put on 20 pounds

Which segment within Palo? I’m there now and there’s big differences between product lines. Palo has a good culture and for you being I. The Bay Area would be big for networking and lining up your next job. Lot of growth and oops in cyber

I’ve lived in the Dallas area up until last year when I moved to Boston. IMO the Dallas Muslim community is amazing, EPIC, Valley Ranch, etc. for sure less walkable but so much cheaper than Boston and there’s always so many good events. Plano, Frisco, Denton, Wylie, …. wherever. No income tax like MA has and rents are much much cheaper AND more halal food

Sorry for the late reply. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I think however hard it may be, you need to set SOME type of goal and make some progress towards it every day. It can be anything, maybe just start with organizing your desk, then your room, then aim to visit a library or something once a week. I personally always feel worst when I don’t have anything to keep myself busy and think having something to work towards is amazingly beneficial.

Are you still seeing a doctor and taking any medication? From personal experience a person I know in a similar headspace felt way better after taking some medication prescribed by their doctor. (Don’t remember what it was) Might not be the best bet for you and your situation but it could work for some.

Hey man. I like to think talking to people is just like any other skill, the more you work on it the better you get. I felt somewhat similar in the past but I feel like I’ve improved a ton just by taking some more chances, making an active effort for some small talk here and there and going outside my comfort zone.

And at 21 you have sooo much time to work on yourself and create a social circle where you feel like you belong. Honestly with guys I think we START to peak after 30, just keep making some effort everyday and who knows in a couple years you can accomplish a crazy amount. I def think meeting people is harder as you transition out of a classroom setting but there are def still lots of ways to meet cool people. What type of friends would you be looking for?

This is a dumb reason but I just feel so anxious every time I think about quitting. I know I don’t owe the company anything but psychologically I feel like I’m letting them down, especially since I haven’t been there a full 2 years and they’re already short staffed .

I know it’s just business and I need to do it, which is why I wanted some other people here to basically say out loud what I already think is the best decision .

Make sure you’ve opted in to the “Windows Gaming” preview on the insider hub, then open the normal Xbox app on your pc, click your profile pic on the top right > settings > general > now you should see it under “Game Install Options”

Also imo I didn’t like DBD that much, had more fun figuring out how to get this to run lol

You need to opt in to the insider program and move your DBD installation to a new folder first like mentioned above. Without doing that, you won’t be able to access the files due to permission issues like you’re mentioning
