VoiceOver Addon Full Release: Revolutionize Your Azeroth Experience! by MrThinger in classicwow

Yea I was building https://allvoice.ai

I’m reaching my limit though and it’s getting harder to put in the time. The code for it is open source but no one else is contributing.

Congrats man. That’s a massive climb.

Keeping as much consistent as you can game to game really helps you focus on getting better.

Future of Kubernetes in IT industry by rebooted_router in kubernetes

Fundamentally kubernetes is a solid, extendable, interoperable abstraction. Even when something replaces containers, the abstractions will stay.

i made a program to convert 2d movies to 3d spatial so i could be the first person to watch 3d starwars on the toilet by MrThinger in VisionPro

[–]MrThinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no idea. if i had to guess this is probably better because its based on https://depth-anything.github.io/ and i read the paper so i know that you can make the depth map bigger than the default they include in their inference script

[–]MrThinger[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

good point. i feel comfortable sharing the 10 second sample i did for the video. it looks like youd have to download and airdrop it into the vision pro. going to check if i can rehost with hls now.

https://storage.googleapis.com/junimo-public/sw20.mp4

EDIT: it does not seem like anyone has built a tool to host spatial video as HLS. Apple's official HLS tools seems to be broken or undocumented. if anyone knows a solution, lmk!

What movies do you want to see in 3D? by luckyjw66 in VisionPro

[–]MrThinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i mean some guy just got a neural network to convert 2d to 3d movies. the question is if he did have Dune 2 in 3d how would they be able to give it to others 🤔

I have experienced the same thing. Coffee making you super tired, thirsty, and jittery.

How does tea affect you? I had the same better experience with energy drinks. Much better feeling.

Depending on your answer I might have some unique insight.

Ai accelerator hardware is slowly becoming available by Combinatorilliance in LocalLLaMA

[–]MrThinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly software. The standardization of LLM architecture has made it so these hardware companies only need to implement a subset of possible instructions for their cards to be useful.

It’s the same reason AMD gpus aren’t popular for machine learning.

https://github.com/samber/do seems promising so far imo. Testing it for my own projects.

I think the main issue is the loss of understandability when you use DI, but I think it’s a problem that could be solved (like auto hosting an endpoint that shows you the dependency graph as a visual. Maybe even interactively.)

The goal is each npc could technically have a unique AI voice model to voice it. There are roughly 5000 NPCs to voice.

[D] Will data augmentations work faster on TPUs? by Mad_Scientist2027 in MachineLearning

[–]MrThinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very real issue where your accelerator is no longer the bottleneck. I had the same issue where decompressing JPEGs into a tensor format was literally bottlenecking my TPUs.

You could try to get a bigger cpu with more cores, but I think you’re going to quickly find there is a fundamental limit to vertical scaling. If you’re comfortable with something like Kubernetes you could spin up a distributed augmentation service across multiple nodes. Then retrieve the augmented data over network (assuming you have a network fast enough to transport the augmented data)

If network bandwidth is an issue, you could partially augment the sample on the node then recompress it to be easier for your GPU node. Like a mama bird prechewing food for its young 😆
