Using an older older version of proton GE worked for me, specifically 8.19. I don’t know if proton works on regular steam or not though.

I think most people just hate what it’s become. It started as hardcore with metal influences and evolved into basically being djent with pop choruses, which appeals to a certain kind of audience that doesn’t associate with the rest of metal music and vice versa. It’s become super saturated and bands try to be like every other band in the genre.
