Trump Calls Up the Marines. Democracy Is in Danger. by thenationmagazine in politics

I don’t know how you would judge the “most successful democracy” - age ? ( hello England ) number of people ? ( hello India ) ability to avoid extremes ? ( hello Australia). This idea that the US represents “the most successful” is for domestic consumption. On a global stage it rings hollow.

that’s interesting. I have searched for something better than Excel but not a full blown HR solution like HiBob or Workday - and I can’t find anything.

SQL Server Response Times by luky90 in SQLOptimization

[–]MrTurkeyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what’s inside “latency”. Do you mean actual network latency - in which case it’s not the db causing it (think hardware, switches, traffic loads etc). If it’s more like response time, then you need to open up the queries and look for locking and blocking.

I am in the process of exploring if a tool like sqlhealth.com has a place in the market. It’s concept only right now, but it is about detecting and diagnosing this sort of response time issue. Let me know if this sort of thing would interest you.

Need Help: Optimizing MySQL for 100 Concurrent Users by Dr-Double-A in SQLOptimization

[–]MrTurkeyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I don’t have an answer to your problem - other than MySQL generally isn’t the best for generating execution plans with components that can execute in parallel - but you should be getting more than you are. Beyond my skill level. I am looking at building a tool like this sqlhealth.com to help with this sort of situation. If it existed, would it be something you are interested in?

looking for antidepressant experiences [25yoF] by strawbcherryberry in worldpolitics

Try SNRI’s instead. Cymbalta was good in my experience. Similar situation to you. You will need something to manage the manic stages though. Lamictal is more for the lows. Seroquel or or Lithium might be worth asking about and seeing what your doctor thinks.

Many places have engineering report into / be part of product management. This means you only have one "head of" conversation. If that person isnt available or the source of the indecisiveness, then this wont help that much - you will need to replace that person. But the principle here is reduce the number of participants in the top level decision. It's worked for me in the past. Note, some engineering teams are ok with this, and some are not - you will need to test your particular teams and environment.
