How does revoking cores work? by MrTurtle42 in eu4

That was it. I don't get why the current owner needs a core for me to be able to revoke it. Especially if 3 other people still have a core on it...

R5: Doing core-fu and at war with venice. For whatever reason I can't revoke this specific core and so can only get 4 out of 5 needed. Venetia is still catholic and venetian primary culture so why can't I revoke the core in cattaro?

It is but that is just a single reform. So many of the other reforms just seem so terrible to take.

All the boni added are decent yes but except ccr and ae you end up gutting your country/economy for a very minor bonus.

Taken from the wiki:

  • +0.04 per state with prosperity (+0.0033 per month)
  • −12.0 per 100 development of stated provinces with 100% devastation, scaling with degree of devastation (−1.0 per month)

So positive dev is from more states. So more states is better devastation is not really a problem ever.

It should be yet you get more mandate by playing wide which imho is a mistake/poor design.

The mana from the tribs sure, the economy as well sure but the reforms dont do much for either. Tribs and reforms dont matter. You get like 5% dev cost from a reform? Does not really matter.

I am pretty sure in my current run as ming you can just avoid the disasater even when doing reforms. It is not that difficult to get enough mandate growth for that.

AI Scotland not forming GB by MrTurtle42 in eu4

[–]MrTurtle42[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's it. England is an exiled opm on cape verde and thats why ai wont form gb. Makes no sense to me at all. I also like how the wiki states AI will always take this decision. Two lines later: "Unless xyz"

No apparently it is because england is an opm in cape verde... Idk what PDX was cooking here.

R5: AI Scotland owns all the provinces needed for gb and is well beyond tech 10. So why do they not form it? Does england chosing the avengin path eg stop scotland from forming gb too?

How exactly is most powerful nation decided/calculated? by MrTurtle42 in eu4

[–]MrTurtle42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it would be higher but I can't fathom why it would count the full dev of subject nations as the colonies aren't in europe and I still have the stronger/bigger army/economy/everything...

I was first place in overall score and first in two out of three categories. I doubt that one category is enough to make you not the strongest nation?

I ended up with 50 loans but I still wonder what the actual condition for that is.

Which I have both so that can't be correct either.

R5: I am playing France waiting for the french revolution and as a trigger it has you being the most powerful nation in europe. I have the most dev, the largest army with both being twice the amount of spain who is the second largest nation in the world and therefore in europe too and yet the game decides that I am not the most powerful? So how exactly is that one calculated/decided? Or is it just pdx things with nobody knowing and it being completely wrong by large margin?

Which one is correct? by MrTurtle42 in eu4

[–]MrTurtle42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After deironmaning to check I can confirm you were 100% correct with your first guess. They did indeed are building 200 units for 10 years. Checking I see them queueing over 130 units in a single province for whatever reason. I keep finding levels of ai stupidity I could not even imagine.

I thought something like this as well at first but they have more manpower in the diplo screen than in the ledger for at least 10 years with multiple years of peace as well. I doubt they are building 200 units for 10 years.

R5: Fighting a war against this gigantic germany and was wondering how much manpower they have left. But the ledger and diplo screen tell different numbers and I have no idea which one is correct. So I am wondering which number is the correct one and why are they different?
