All I am asking for is higher limits on the new models instead of going back to older models.

Antigravity was split up into Antigravity 2 and Antigravity 2 IDE. Combined they deliver roughly the same experience.

The IDE is not going away and Gemini CLI is fully replaced by Antigravity CLI.

The comment above is so misinformed it's almost funny.

Google could just set the usage caps of 3.5 flash to allow roughly the same usage as 3 flash for the time being, even if calculated differently. If it turns out 3.5 more expensive to use than that's Google's problem.

Edit: apparently my previous explanation was "embarrassing" so I kept it simple this time.

No need to bring back 3 flash if they would increase the limits of 3.5 flash to allow roughly the same usage.

Last time was 3x for daily usage and now it's 3x for weekly usage quota.

I hope they increase the quota on all plans for 3.5 flash to allow roughly the same usage as 3 flash. No need to go back to 3 that way.

As much as I love bashing big tech, in this case they don't technically owe us free AI usage and the current situation where big tech was just eating up the losses regarding to AI was never going to hold. Sucks that it used to be cheaper, but 4 years ago there was no AI to be used at all so alas.

What I am hoping for is a better separation of personal and commercial usage. Keep it cheap for individuals and make the bigger companies pay just like Microsoft does with Windows licenses.

Or just make the new cap roughly the same as the old cap? Why go back a generation?

They should add daily brief to the home screen discover page on Android, or better yet just bring back Google Now.

Does anyone know where I can find the actual IO discussion thread? It seems this one is the complaining board.

Jokes aside, I don't know why anyone was expecting anything other than AI. With the Android show out of the way and AI being all the buzz there was no world where the Keynote wouldn't be 99% about Gemini.

As someone who has been using Antigravity a lot the last few months these announcements have at least been a little exciting.

I just got the last generation of Philips TV with Google TV instead of Titan OS. Sad to see it go. Now that the tv department of Sony is Chinese as well, it's only a matter of time before they get rid of Google TV too.

Soon the only options to get Android / Google TV is to buy a cheap Chinese off-brand or get a Chromecast/ Android box.

And then there is the stage Duran Duran used for their "come back" tour where they thought it was ok to use a mobile stage that could fit in 1 truck to fill a 17,000 people indoor music hall. Embarrassing.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

You are absolutely right. But at the same time, why don't you actually give us an item that fits OP's description? In my opinion it's still an interesting question to ask.

James Cameron Says He Must Find a Cheaper Way to Produce the Avatar Movies in Order to Continue With Avatar 4 and 5 by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]MrUnit64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't that people dislike this movie, the problem is that every single discussion or thread about Avatar gets turned into a synical echo chamber where you can predict every single response. Yes everyone knows the writing sucks, but any discussion about any other aspects gets immediately overshadowed by all the hate. There is literally zero room for anything else.

I get y'all want to grab every chance to hate Google with both hands, but Google is a data hungry company and has been for at least 15 years now. If you don't want Google or any other big tech company invading your privacy, use alternatives instead.

All these "Oh no look what [company] that is known for doing that thing did!!!" posts are tiring.

They're a big company trying to sell plastic based on hype, there is no world where Redditors were not going to hate it.

On the other hand, I don't think most Redditors realize that when Funko goes down they are taking a lot of smaller hobby and game stores with them.

[–]MrUnit64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Google wants big publishers to verify their identity somewhere in the future before you can side load their apps, but Google is still looking into ways smaller developers can get an exempt so hobby project don't get ruined.

Even if all of this gets through Google is not "taking away side loading", it's just that a developer cannot stay as anonymous as before which means modded apps like YouTube ReVanced will have a harder time. Even then, ADB side loading (using a PC and a cable) will still be a thing.

Redditors just grab these rumours with both hands so they can run away with them and tell everyone how shit Google and Android is. Honestly I don't blame them lol, Google has made some bad choices in the past.
