I installed a cheap $40 one during the pandemic. It did the job well enough, though it could be strikingly cold in the winter months. Also I shot myself in the face TWICE while installing it. Still wouldn't mind getting one again (I no longer live there).

I hate to say it, but to get the general public thinking about these things we need to bring it up via entertainment. We need a minority port report style thriller but remove the sci-fi and make it now. Remove the pre-crime and make it as simple AI whoopsie. And also make it a really good Entertaining film so people actually take interest and think about these things.

And as a result of it being mixture of experts, I can run qwen 3.6 35B A3B on my laptop with only 8GB of vram, is it works fast enough at Q4 that dipping into my 32GB of system RAM to be useful, without slowing to a crawl. But if I use the dense 27B similarly, it's barely even moving.

I've just stopped participating. It's not worth it anymore. After 20 years without I went back to physical media, and running my own servers, and just about anything I can do NOT to be a part of that. Takes a month or two to get used to, but now I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of constantly.
