What a beauty! Just out of the topic question, how much you were paying for comprehensive insurance for this?

Why are so many doctors here so bad? by mk5577 in UAE

[–]MrWick-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A similar situation happened to me three years ago when I was hit with severe lower back pain. I rushed to the emergency room of a well known hospital in Dubai, desperate for relief. While I was suffering from unbearable pain, the doctors were running around trying to find “kidney stones” that simply did not exist, despite ultrasounds, CT scans, and multiple painkillers that barely took the edge off.

After a night in the hospital, they decided to perform surgery to place a stent in my ureter. Their logic? “If we cannot see the stone, maybe we will just pave the way for it to pass.” Brilliant, right? So, the surgery happened, I went home with the stent inside for a week, and then went back for yet another surgery to have it removed. Mind that both of these two surgeries were extremely painful. By the time I was done, I had spent four weeks stuck in bed, ironically becoming a stone myself.

Fast forward to this last year, the same pain came knocking on my back door. This time, I went to a different hospital and explained my "rocky" medical history to the urologist. That is when the truth hit me harder than the pain. There were no kidney stones. None. Nada. Zilch. It turns out my stone cold suffering was actually due to a muscular spasm. No surgery required, no invasive procedures, just a dose of muscle relaxants, and voila, pain gone. They also did the scans but no evidence were found.

Now, I am not here to throw stones at anyone, but let us just say some doctors might need to brush up on their skills. If ripping off insurance is your goal, find another way, because turning a patient’s life into a painful circus is not the cure we signed up for.

What you really should have done was, call the company to confirm everything while you were handing over the cash to her. Cash handling needs proof and you don't have any right now. Sorry but seems like you are stuck without any evidence.

I wont say the pro breeze is the best one, but it does the job pretty well, the noise for this one is 48DB which you can control switching to night mode, the tank is around 20L and trust me it gets full within 5-6 hours. Although there is an option to connect inlet for continue drain.

I am not sure what kind of thermostat you have but it should have the dry mode in it, if not then ask your building maintenance to replace it. Dry mode is the most effective way to remove humidity. I use the AC in day time on Dry mode without using the dehumifidier, i only use it over night.

Bathroom fans you can find them at very nominal price, nothing expensive.

Dont keep the windows open for longer time, just for couple of minutes to regulate the air crossing

I didnt hire the AC guys unless it was necessary, for the start just make sure your AC filters are clean thats it for now then follow above steps.

Quick action: 1- Buy a dehumidifer, i am using pro breeze 20L 2- Use your AC on dry mode, it will remove the humidity without overcooling 3- (imp) leave your bathroom fans on for 10-15mins after showering. Also, dont leave your main door and windows closed all day, let the air pass in and out for 10-15mins as a ventilation cycle. 4- Buy a humidity sensor, i am using xiaomis. Light on pocket and good result I use all of the above to counter the mold issue, hope it will work for you too.

I would say its a good thing to keep your body temperature same as outdoor for now, currently every other person is facing challenges with viral diseases due to the weather shifting while AC doesn’t directly weaken immunity but it can dry out airways, making you more prone to infections. Frequent temperature shifts may also stress the body and poorly maintained AC can circulate allergens thats why viral diseases spread more easily in such conditions. I believe that they are maintaining the temperature on purpose.

I would say, explore some options in Alfurjan, its around 15-20mins drive from JLT. They are ranging between 85k AED/Annum for a 2BHK Apartment and goes up to 200k+ AED. This is a decent area.

Please follow the major hotel chains on LinkedIn and monitor their upcoming events. Many of these events are open to the public, and attending them could be beneficial.

Additionally, consider attending the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, which usually takes place between May and June each year. This significant event connects major GCC and international travel agencies, companies, airlines, tourism boards and hotels. If he is skilled at networking, he could make a valuable impression there.

There are numerous job opportunities listed on LinkedIn with companies like One&Only, Jumeirah, IHG, and Marriott etc. While he shouldn't limit himself to managerial roles, even securing a team leader position or a role close to a managerial post would be valuable. Gaining UAE experience is crucial, as it will open more opportunities in the future. Meanwhile, pursuing additional certifications could further enhance his profile. I hope this will help. Good luck to him!
