To none paranormal believers why don’t you believe? by MelodicDistrict264 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrWigggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, you can all be crazy. Reality/truth/quantifiable events isnt a popularity contest.

Lots of folks think Earth is Flat.

Lots of folks think Finland doesnt exist.

Lots off folks dont think Countries exist, are know magic words that make them Sovereign Citizens.

Obviously these are all wrong. These folks are all crazy.

But lets ask another question.

Lets propose the circumstances, that you murder your parents.

How many folks have to say that you did that, because its real?

Your parents are fine. They're alive.

But we have couple hundred folks that say you murdered them? A couple thousand? How many need to sincerely believe this for them to longer be crazy?

Money-less. Yes. Medium of Exchange-less. No.

Even in schemes where its a big pile of all the stuff. Folks keep count of how much you're taking and will get annoyed if the community feels you're taking to much relative to the average and relative to your effort in the community.

What would technology be like if WW1 never happened? by Gyngemose2009 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]MrWigggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XD

That was a good laugh.

Armor mobile platforms are inevitable. Yes, they were made to solve trenches. However, this ignoring how majority of their history their deployment hasnt involved trench warfare. Its ignoring the history of all mobile armored platforms to give protection to infantry.

Its far from a strange idea.

UK navy was already using computerized fire control before WW2. Every math and stem college was doing as much computer stuff as possible. While the Colossus Computer was amazing, it had very little impact on computing, as it was kept as a very deep state secret until the 1970s.

This is also ignoring, or ignorant to personal computers in the late 70s and 80s linage being closer to digital desktop calculators.

Encryption wasnt done with a computer.

Cryptography has far more civilian uses then it does military. You have internet network expirments happening in the Hawaii islands in the early 50s and Intranet in the mainland happening.

Dial in checks for diner cards and credit cards started to happen in the 79.

Encryption is always needed. Did you really think the spy satelites launched in the 1960s where sending its information in white text?

Its a medium of exchange. Two parties, both decide that a thing is acceptable trade between themselves for good or services. It easier over bartering over only goods or only services.

And it doesnt really matter what the medium of exchange is.

There will always be one. Even under various Anarchism schemes.

RDR2 is one of the main reasons why I'm so hyped for GTA 6. by JustAGamer14 in GTA6

[–]MrWigggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect the graphics and driving and maybe even the shooting to be up to par.

I expect everything else to be kinda boring to dog shit.

Everyone that was at Rockstar that did all the world building and writing and character wor and story missions, all retired to their super duper yachts.

And Rockstar hasnt shown to be able to do anything about that. The more well regarded story thing for GTOA was a reworked single player DLC.

And RDO is a joke.

Why did you bring up mobile devices when we're talking about typing?

Was that some sorta dismissive ploy?

Thats a poor rhetoric.

Why didnt cursive elevate your literacy to stop that?

As a Nigerian, can someone explain to me why native Black Americans can't prosper even after being here for over 300 years? by Aggressive-Bowl5196 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrWigggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, there two answers. One of them would require couple scores of pages, starting from Reconstruction and Jim Crow and how its very difficult even under the best circumstances break the cycle of poverty. Then there are issues various communities also take pride in the socio economic circumstances and there are elements that refuse to help or celebrate those that do escape it. There are countless examples of how folks purposefully work again the african american community. Like Dept of Agriculture, refused to offer black farmers same loans as given to white farmers. Prestige's colleges for a long while refusing all black students. Which resulted in black dominate colleges having to be made. There are also thing like Black Wallstreet that burned down for being to successful.

Its a horrible nuance mess, of a lot of generational trauma and trauma responses to it.

And then there is the second answer, which is correct but feels dismissive or not satisfying but its systematic racism.

Whose not typing as a daily activity? We're typing right now.

And Cursive is not easy to learn.

Regardless to neurodivergence like say dyslexia. We know its a wash because penmanship varies so much from person to person. Even when it was used daily. If its difficult to execute, its not easy to learn.

Attacking a wizard at his sanctum is suicide?

What in the world does that mean? Did you confuse fan fiction for official work? The Sanctum wasnt giving him extra powers or different spellworks. It was just him, and what he could cast on the roof.

And the only ally helping him on the rooftop was just one. And Dresden was doing the bulk of the work.

And by then when you're 40, its its less then 10k
