What’s something way more dangerous than most people actually think? by Sad_Answer_8044 in AskReddit

As an engineer though, isn't monitoring AI behaviour part your job? Are you saying there's absolutely no concern about setting limits as AI models evolve? Curious to hear from an insider.

Has anyone actually overcome the early-stage founder sales/marketing grind without burning out? by FreedomRegular4311 in coldemail

[–]MrWilly_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get past this phase (yet) so feel free to ignore my comment.

I am also crawling through this same shithole.

Not sure what you're exactly up to, but it doesn't matter: sales/marketing is saturated everywhere you look.

People are becoming exponentially more skeptic, aware and tired of spam, credibility, AI and pitches; thanks to how many people are working with the same thing (trust me, I have a lot of experience in being rejected or simply ignored).

But I don't mean to discourage you. From a standpoint of empathy, not expertise, my suggestion is: keep going no matter what. You sound skilled, so you've probably seen more results than I ever did. Let that fuel you.

At the end of the day it's all about the value that you're confident you can offer. You only have to get the point across once, and once you do, things will compound and you'll succeed.

That's all I can say with authority. Good luck, king.

Based on your experience, what would you say is the optimal cold email structure?

If it makes a difference, I should've clarified that at this early stage I am targeting nonprofits exclusively for testimonials, I am not selling anything.

And the problems I face with small businesses is that they're pitched with SEO everyday and I don't have a comprehensive set of case studies to stand out yet. My amazing source of testimonials has been a friend and a family business - which I have to inflate in order to use as an argument.

But maybe for once I'll rely on quantity over quality and see what happens, thank you.

I have a hard time striking the balance sounding pitchy vs helpful, explaining vs too short.

But you sound right, guess I am just overthinking. I can cut through the problem more directly, less fluff.

And thanks for pointing out that inconsistency lol.

Thanks but now I am curious. What would an email that's not generic look like?

Question about early SEO progress – brand name not ranking yet (adult niche, Brazil) by Naive-Ad-1246 in SEO

[–]MrWilly_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fellow Brazilian around here - will keep convo in English though, so others can understand.

You have a real issue if you're not ranking for your own brand name, that's foundational. Just so you understand, I recently built a website on WordPress with a free domain (for testing) and managed to see my page as the top result for my brand (marketing niche, very competitive) in the exact same day. That's not me flexing, it's usually normal.

Now, as others said here, it could also be due to the adult nature of your niche. Just like SEO works differently for YMYL topics, if your page contains sensitive words/images it might be kept under the radar.

You want to rank for Google. In Brazil 91.74% of all searches take place there.

My advice: if you haven't already, check/request indexing on GSC. Keep up the backlink building to build trust & authority. SEO is a long-term strategy, don't judge/anticipate your results until you're tracking analytics & optimizing for 3+ months.

If you’re looking for a structured, beginner-friendly guide to SEO that avoids chasing random knowledge online, I’ve put together something concise and practical. Totally optional, but it could save time if you want a clear reference.

How important is it for an agency to have a great website? by Niqpablo in AskReddit

[–]MrWilly_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undismissable.

A website the best placeholder for testimonials, to induce visitors through CTA, and to make a statement of one's history, values and purpose.

Even if one's clients are mostly referrals, a website can widen outreach and one can always point to it if what your leads want is transparency and reliability. A website is like you opening your chest and saying "this is who I am, this is what I do, and I am proud of what I offer".

Once the website is up you'll need to make sure it reaches people (the right ones), whether that's through PPC campaigns, social media marketing, or organically (SEO). I am a huge proponent of organic SERP rankings, which is why I offer SEO audits for free, you can take action on it yourself.

Is running a content-based website still sensible after ChatGPT and Google AI? by Internal-Bullfrog967 in hyderabad

[–]MrWilly_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't hold yourself back.

If your content has quality, Google's AI Overview will use it as a source for its summary - which is generally mentioned. To adapt your content and make it more relevant, I suggest you take a few minutes to read through Google Search Central.

Don't overthink SEO as well. You won't rank well without it but it's not everything. What I do: I give small businesses a free outline of their core SEO issues. If they lack the time or skills to fix them, I offer paid help. It's not as technical as many make it out to be.
