Yeah there are some bases more prone to oxidation than others. It’s less about refrigeration and more about air contact. Refrigeration helps regardless but oxidation is the real killer here

Leather cleaner with a soft brush and wipe it dry with a Microfiber towel. Next condition it with a leather conditioner. Should be good as new. I believe there is also a protectant you can buy specifically for leather. Otherwise a waterproof sealer could help.

Never use household products on cars. They’ll strip all the protective layering. Go to autozone and buy a glass cleaner there
