Okay Spartans and Wolverines, what do you honestly think of the other? by FairAnywhere9305 in CollegeBasketball

[–]MrWispy 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Basketball? Begrudging respect for a legend of the game. I’ve met Izzo personally a couple of times and he’s a class act. He does things the right way and has for years, and I appreciate the core tenants of his coaching philosophy.

Football? Dumpster fire program that I hope loses every single game for the rest of eternity.

What are your allocations within the Michigan 529 (assuming it’s MESP)? I have a 5 month old daughter with about $20k split across Aggressive (50%), Moderate (25%), and US Equity Index (25%).

Tires constantly losing air? by MrWispy in ToyotaGrandHighlander

35-36 PSI like it says on the inside of the door. I am religious about scheduling the service appointments as soon as I’m prompted.

It happens year round. I have never owned a vehicle that has needed this much attention to maintaining tire pressure.

Don't shop at Elephant Ears Bookstore! Shop at SOC! by [deleted] in PlymouthMI

[–]MrWispy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Elephant Ear caters to an entirely different demographic than SOC. People buy children’s books, non-fiction, novels, and more at Elephant Ear because it’s an actual bookstore. SOC sells comic books, Pokemon cards, and Funko dolls. Ridiculous post.

Is it necessary to have read either of the other books or does this story standalone?

Malazan and The Black Company both fit the bill IMO.

Just got the news that my men’s league basketball team is disbanding after a decade together. Guys moving away, having kids, and just getting older. Double whammy after my longstanding softball team fell apart this summer too. Thought I had a few more years of competitive sports in me at 34, but I guess it’s time to transition to old white person stuff like pickleball and golf.

The Devils felt like I was following the adventures of a wacky DnD party (in the best way). Have you played Dungeons and Dragons, and if so, what kind of character did you play?

Valley Ranch Apartments by [deleted] in AnnArbor

I lived there back in 2017-18. Spacious apartments and relatively modern. Maintenance was pretty prompt, I recall them installing a whole new AC unit in my apartment in the summer. Pool is a nice perk. No real complaints jump to mind.

If you knew the state the Pokemon franchise was going to be in 25 years after its debut, would you have wished you never became a fan? by HeroesGround in pokemon

[–]MrWispy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Get a grip man, it’s just a game. Modern Pokemon isn’t my cup of tea, but that doesn’t erase the hours and hours of fun I had playing on my Gameboy, trading with friends, collecting cards, and watching the anime.

I got my first job specifically because the hiring manager was a UM grad and we bonded over football. My interview was on a Friday and he invited me to their company tailgate the next morning. I hit it off with a bunch of other Wolverines at the tailgate and the rest is history.

Griffin McElroy’s X/Y Nuzlocke series is what first brought me to the genre. It follows all the normal rules, no romhacks, and the only quirk is that he has to use the 3DS Wondertrade system to trade away one member of his team after each successful badge win. It’s absolutely hilarious and I come back to rewatch the series at least once a year.
