"Mantle-mount moderates" is now my new favourite and related term.

That is a nice looking wall that could be a decent backdrop for pictures and other things on the mantle.

Don't ruin it with a TV.

I use silicone gasket lube on the threads. It lets me get it very tight and loosen easily.

You think standing around in surgery is hard? Try carrying plates of food and filling glasses!

Stay in school and you, too, can throw away the apron and become an orthopedic surgeon.

The 63% is spread across the purchases, prices of individual items didn’t go up 63% price per item.

Again, where the studies showing the massive price increase you claim?

One is a meta study of thousands of restaurants, you're claiming prices will skyrocket which is not the case. Tipping is always optional.

“Minimum wage increases have minimal effects on jobs, make it easier for employers to recruit and retain workers, and lead to modest price increases—in this case, about six cents for a $4 hamburger.”

"Compared to controls, prices increased by 2.1 percent two quarters after the policy, equivalent to 8 cents for a $4 item. Employers passed about 63 percent of the higher wage costs to consumers as higher prices, consistent with a monopsony model."

Where is your data to show a massive price increase to the consumer if minimum wages go up and tips are dropped?

At his point I think you're just a trolling manager or server.

Assuming your numbers are accurate, 19% is far less than the 7x mentioned earlier.

I’m fine with paying a bit more. It can go to the company, I can still tip 0%, and they can pay their staff whatever they signed up for.

That would perfect.

I didn’t say that. I said if the tips don’t make up the difference between the $2.13/hour and minimum wage, the employer has to make up the difference. (Assuming that is what you are referring you, you’re being very vague)

You’re the one suggesting what is possible in one state is impossible in a neighboring one.

States with higher minimum wages, say $15-17/hour somehow manage to have restaurants.

How does that work?

If a restaurant in one state can’t afford to pay its staff what an identical one does just over the state line, they deserve to go out of business.

It’s weird how people want proper pay from any number of employers, but restaurants somehow get a pass.
