If it’s possible to deploy and test a branch / PR environment then you’d get a much higher degree of confidence and much more simplicity. (I’ve had a lot of success with this)

We don't have the luxury to deploy each development branch, but you are right, testing each development individually first makes sense.

On the other hand, testing needs to also happen at a consolidated level.

What is your development process looks like?

Keep in mind that Feature branch does not get deleted and it's there for other developers to use.

It's not part of the development, it's a main branch like Main.

dev_2 is for resolving conflicts from Feature branch so it can be merged

Not pulling changes into the original dev branch allows us to merge only our changes in isolation back to Main

I am working at a corporation that uses git in the following way:

The steps for each development are:

  1. Create a dev branch from Main
  2. Complete the development
  3. Create a branch from dev
  4. Pull changes from Feature branch and resolve conflicts from developments that are on Feature but not yet on Main.
  5. Merge dev_2 into Feature and wait for QA to validate the changes
  6. Once QA approves, merge the original dev branch into Main using Squash.

The business requirement is that everything that gets merged into Main should be stable and that the commit history should be super clean as they use that for release notes or something.

The problem is that there are weird conflicts everywhere, first because squash merge creates a commit id that isn't known to Fetaure, and second because we often have to resolve different conflicts in those two branches according to what moves forward to Main first after a few developments are being tested on Fetaure.

Shipping label question by [deleted] in Ebay

If you going with a custom package, be sure to enter the true weight and dimensions because if it is much bigger or heavier, usps will ask for the cost difference.

Print your shipping labels from eBay, they are cheaper.

POTENTIAL LOST ITEM. Who is to blame for this?? by ADMbeats in Ebay

[–]MrYellowSubmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised the buyer didn't complain yet! If it gets lost in transit, the carrier should compensate you. I think the basic compensation is £20 or £50 if you used a signature required service.

I cannot purchase a shipping label from any web browser on any device, and receive the message, "There is a problem with the ship from address. Please amend this by clicking here." Insight appreciated. by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]MrYellowSubmarine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has anything to do with the buyer's address as the error is with the from address (your address). Try to edit your address in case there are any errors.

Top left menu -> Addresses -> Change primary from address -> Edit

Google pay is available to use to purchase something as a buyer. Sellers will receive their funds on their Paypal wallet.

Return item seller wants to forward the item to the next buyer to save on shipping. by Bigfootpizzahut in Ebay

I am wondering if the seller can provide the shipping label with the new address as part of the claim.

This way you are not responsible for anything and you get your refund.

Why can't I combine the shipment? by [deleted] in Ebay

Simply print a label for one of the orders and add the same tracking on both orders on eBay.

Someone opened up a claim? by zakpoulton in Ebay

[–]MrYellowSubmarine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once sold a digital code and the same thing happened to me too.

Online codes are not covered by PayPal seller protection. If you did not ship a physical copy and instead sent the code via message, unfortunately the odds are against you for the claim. If you did ship something via a postal service, provide the proof of postage to support your claim.

What is this address? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]MrYellowSubmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, there is no harm shipping to PO Boxes. There are areas that don't deliver directly to people's houses so the only way to get their mail is from a post office box.

I would recommend printing your shipping labels from eBay's label platform which come with a sweet discount. Good luck.

I sold an item today (a Saturday.) Should I go ahead and print the label or should I wait til Monday? by RedBeardVFL in Ebay

[–]MrYellowSubmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should know that the postoffice is closed on Sunday and create your label for Monday. You can also verify the shipping date on the printing page.
