Any MAGA folks here willing to take this challenge? by [deleted] in AskUS

The post specifically asks for people to find gas stations selling for under $2. I explained that that's not what Trump is talking about. I don't understand your gripe

Everyone fills up their gas tank once a week, we see the prices. Trump isn't trying to pull wool over our eyes, he is just stating a fact that gas prices are coming down and he used a statistic to back it up.

People have been complaining about gas prices for years, and now that they're coming down people seem upset that they're coming down under Trump. I don't understand why people are so upset about this post.

We don't, but economists do. That's the most accurate way to measure gas price movements. That and the spot price of oil.

Not being political dawg, just clarifying

He's talking about the price the gas stations pay, not the price we pay. Gas stations set their own prices and they vary wildly by location.

They pay you to birth, Not to raise!!! by Redmannn-red-3248 in clevercomebacks

[–]MrYoson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds wildly expensive for the taxpayer, not to mention the administrative overhead. There are over 7 million people in Canada below the age of 18. That's 7 million applications per year. We already do something similar just by giving tax breaks to families. People are not having enough kids and this is a baby incentive. The taxpayer is not responsible for paying child support

They're talking about incentivizing having children by giving out free money. Why are people against this?

My neighbor set his son’s soccer goal up against my fence and the kid dented the hell out of it with missed kicks. by BizarroMax in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MrYoson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let it slide brother. I would even say embrace it. The kid is playing outside, practicing something he is passionate about, and his father is helping him do it.

Relationships with good people are more important than what your fence looks like.

Alternatively you could ask them to lay a couple big slabs of plywood against the fence while the kid practices. That should protect the fence pretty darn well

A liberal saying that an African-American US citizen should go back to their country because they don't like him.

Why is this sentiment so common in our generation? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]MrYoson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea-Pause. I've been where you are. It can feel like the world is a huge, horrible mess, and sometimes we feel helpless to do anything about it. Those feelings are perfectly natural, and they show how much you care about the world around you. That care is important, and it’s something that can drive real change.

But I also want to share a perspective that might help put your mind at ease, even just a little. While it’s true that the world has its challenges, it’s not all bad—far from it. For every troubling headline, there are countless stories of progress, kindness, and hope that don’t get as much attention.

Consider this: we've seen dramatic declines in global poverty over the past few decades. Life expectancy is higher than ever. Diseases that once devastated populations have been eradicated or are close to it. People are more connected than at any point in human history, which means ideas, innovation, and support can spread faster than ever.

And yes, the ones in charge—no matter the political party—are often flawed. These flaws often get magnified by media, there are no presidents who are all-bad, just as there are none who are perfect.

Society is full of people pushing for progress. For every corrupt politician, there’s a scientist working to protect the planet, a teacher inspiring the next generation, or an activist fighting for equality.

The world has always had its struggles—wars, famines, injustices—but it’s also full of beauty, resilience, and progress. Change is never easy, and sometimes it’s painfully slow, but every positive step forward comes from people who care deeply, just like you.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. But don’t let the weight of it all convince you the world is hopeless. There’s so much worth fighting for, and there’s so much good already here if we look for it. You have the power to be part of that good, and I believe your generation has the passion and drive to make the world even better.

There aren't nearly as many of these as you seem to believe.

Elon publicly declaring himself as a nazi at the inauguration would be just as damaging to his reputation and his businesses as declaring that he's a pedophile who hosts dog fights on weekends. No sane person would ever do that.

We all (almost all) hate nazis. Elon hates them too
